Closing.

It is with a heavy heart that I have to write this, Remedy is now closed. There are a million things contributing to this, mainly a mixture of abandonment from members due to the current roleplaying climate of people joining a site and ditching by the end of the week for a new and shiny site buzz as well as pretty much complete staff team abandonment; there is no way that one person can keep this operation running and as much work as I put into this site and loved every minute of it, there’s no reason to beat a dead horse. The site will remain accessible by members who wish to continue to thread and will always be a home for their characters. We will no longer be approving new characters, and the board will stay offline. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach me on aim at mcmarttinskis. 006. happy one month!

so with the conclusion of the activity check, we are just a few days shy of our ONE MONTH MARK! can you guys believe it's been that long?! it's crazy! we absolutely love each and every one of you and can't wait to see where else this site takes us.

the activity check has ended, as mentioned above, and all inactive accounts have been archived. we also did as much spring cleaning as possible and cleared out inactive people's posts in your shippers. we might have missed a few (we're only human!), so if there is any other cleaning you'd like done (whether it be a wanted ad, your shipper, or otherwise), feel free to pm me and i'll get it done asap.

if you were deemed inactive and wish to come back, it's the same rules as before, you just need to post in character moderation thread. if your face claim has been taken or reserved, you will unfortunately need to pick a new one!

we have a lot of big news in store for you guys this week. we've had some refocus and shifting of staff, we're bringing a new site event, introducing challenges, and maybe even having a super cute new face lift. think of it as a week long celebration of remedy to mark our one month celebration. thank you guys for an amazing one month so far, and let's keep up the amazing work!

reminder: activity check

can you believe it?! we're almost a MONTH OLD!!! how exciting is that?! in a month's time, you guys have made this site an absolute blast to be apart of, and the staff as a whole are just so, so excited to see where we continue. that being said, as you guys might have guessed by now, we will be doing our first ACTIVITY CHECK.

we understand that this time of year, people are back at school and might not have the time to devote to roleplay that the had while on winter holiday, and that's okay! we just want to go through and find the people who are still here and open up some inactive characters and faces. we know that activity checks can be stressful, but we hope that we've found a way to make it easy and painless.

the activity check will run for ONE WEEK, ending on SUNDAY, JANUARY 24TH. in order to deem your characters safe, you have two options:

ACTIVE THREAD: you will need to link to an active thread (not a comm, an actual real thread!). when we say active, we mean that you have posted in it within the last three days.

or...

SHIPPER SPREE: you will need to link to five new substantial shipper posts in other people's shippers. when we say new, we mean that they must be posted after the activity check begins, so it's a fresh, new shipper post for someone.

hopefully that all makes sense! if you have any questions, feel free to pm me (bentley) and i can answer it. below you will find the "safe list" as well as the "unsafe list". if you join and are accepted after the activity check has started, you are fine and don't need to worry about it! only PRE-EXISTING ABSENCES WILL DEEM YOUR CHARACTER EXCUSED. again, we know activity checks suck, but hopefully this is a stress-free and easy one for you.

hello everyone! this is going to be a short and sweet message. we are two weeks in and we couldn't be happier! we've done some inactive clear outs, since the current roleplay climate has a tendency to have giant openings and then people tend to go their own ways, so if you've been deemed inactive, you should have a pm in your inbox explaining what to do in order to come back.

003. one week later!

hi everyone!!! today officially marks one week of remedy being open, and to be honest...it feels like /so much longer/ in the best way possible. seriously. personally speaking, i haven't seen a site grow to this magnitude in such a short period of time with so many wonderful members and characters running around in a very long time (if ever!!!) and for that, the staff wants to extend a hella thank you to everyone.

i'm a super weirdly analytical person and i love numbers, so lemme just show you a few figures. note: these were all compiled when i started writing the announcement so they have no doubt increased by the time this gets posted!

in one week, the site has made 285 MEMBERS REGISTERED and OVER 6500 POSTS. that's falling at an average of almost 1,000 POSTS A DAY. we have 215 ACCEPTED CHARACTERS with 1128 SHIPPER REPLIES. the latter number is something that the staff is super proud of; in a day and age where most shipping and plotting occurs via aim and tumblr, you guys have proven that no shipper will get left untouched for long and you are spreading some amazing plots!

our member directory has 79 REPLIES, showing just how large our member base has grown by individual players. the cbox has OVER 10,000 MESSAGES, full of site-bonding and getting to know everyone. we have 111 WANTED ADS that are beautifully written with amazing potential for characters that keep drawing in new members.169 THREADS in the comms with 2280 REPLIES. 50 TOPICS of roleplay threads, with 158 REPLIES of actual threads.

seriously. you guys are the best members ever.

we cannot wait to see how the site continues to grow each day with new people joining and all the amazing plots and storylines you guys are weaving. this announcement is sort of an opportunity to show you all how amazing you have been since we opened, as well as give you a chance to sound off and let us know how you think the site is going. if you have any questions, comments, concerns, or just want to get excited and hyped up with us, let us know by replying below in the thread!

we have also made a slight RULE UPDATE in regards to characters a day or two ago that we want to alert people of in case they haven't checked the rules. we will no longer be acceptingcharacters with familial ties to royals. existing characters and wanted ads relating to them will be grandfathered in, but as we are not a royals-focused site, we felt that it was starting to get a little out of hand with the amount of those types of characters coming in. there is nothing wrong with the people who have created them, as they followed our rule of not being directly in line for the throne, but from this point forward we want to avoid having anymore royals created. if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to pm a member of staff!

just a few housekeeping reminders: CLAIM YOUR FACES! we've had a few hiccups with people forgetting to claim faces here and there, and while they've always been resolved, we don't want anyone missing out on their face choice. we've also got the SITE EVENT going on still, so even though new years eve has passed (happy new years eve everyone, i hope the hangovers are doing better! haha), continue the site event and have fun posting!

i'm wanting to join, but obviously a lot of faces got taken up in the initial reserves, so i just want to know, once it hits 1pm cst are the ones not claimed free to be reserved again?

Perfect time to ask, because I was just about to make an announcement. Reminder that all tumblr reservers are going to clear and be open at 1:00pm cst, so about 1.5 hours from now! If you need a two day extension, please contact a staff member!

hi friends!!! so we are almost to being a full 24 hours opened and the staff is just...floored. the amount of positive energy around here is amazing. everyone has created such richly in depth characters and even though the staff has been kept in our toys with accepting you lovely people, i speak on all of our behalf when we say that we can't wait to get down to plotting and threadding with you all! just for some exciting numbers (because i'm super analytical), in less than twenty four hours we have gotten 161 members registered. we have gotten 81 characters accepted and sorted. we have 37 beautifully amazing wanted ads posted. we have had 2888 messages in the cbox alone!!! you guys are a bunch of chatty cathys and we love it!!!! keep up the amazing work and let's make this place amazing!

now, first of all, the staff wants to address something. we want to preface that we are only human, and sometimes we make mistakes. we tried to follow suit with some sites and have a no duplicate name rule, but it's proving to just create more chaos and confusion than doing actual good. we tried it, and it just didn't work. for that reason, we are rescinding that rule and making it more of a very heavy suggestion. we ask that you always make sure to check the member list before registering. we are still holding onto the rule that surnames cannot be duplicated unless they are within a family, because that will definitely lead to confusion. for anyone who has had to change their character while this rule was in place, we apologize and hope that you understand that we are just humans and while we tried something, it didn't work out how we wanted to and so we are changing! if you have any questions, don't hesitate to pm a member of staff.

moving onto more exciting things!!! we want to remind everyone to claim their faces upon acceptances and fill out the member directory! we know it can be easy to forget when we're all caught up on the excitement of getting started, but they are super important and we dont' want you to lose your claims because you forgot to post in there.

also just as a reminder, we do have our first site even going on!!! remedy runs in real time, but we wanted to start the new years eve bash early so everyone had a lot of exciting things to do. we would love to see that forum filled up with threads about new years eve, so don't forget it's there and get to posting!!!
