In places like around Fence Lake and Pietown, you can be roaming out in the desert and not see anyone passing through the area for several hours even during tourist season. New Mexico has a population that is a million less than the state of Utah and is therefore preserved better within time because people aren’t going intentionally out of their way to vandalize and destroy the history.
