may i ask why the deer jaw turned black? or was it already black?

It’s a form of algae. It’s happened to a couple other people and this is the second time it’s happened to me, same jaws too. It mostly happens when you leave something in the water for way too long(?) It comes off fairly easily with peroxide so not to much of a bother. Looks cool, smells awful though.
