New fans motivated me!
At end-of-block showcase for the Hearth Breads and Rolls class with Chef Spiess, students were required to make several specific doughs with a team, and an individual dough of choice. Angelina chose to base hers on her great-grandmother’s (DeeTee, affectionately) Easter Bread recipe. Absent-mindedly pushing his skateboard back and forth with one foot whilst leaning back on his hands, Tristan stared blankly forwards at nothing in particular. He had only been waiting for Jay for around 5 minutes but with his almost non-existent patience it felt like an eternity. With a loud sigh, he leant forward and whipped his hands around to rest his head on them.
The peaceful afternoon of the people strolling down the street was disturbed by a Jay-shaped bolt of... well, almost lightning. He had perfected the “people-cruising”, or skating through a crowd of people and hitting almost no one, over the years and would always take advantage of it if he just could. The gate to the park was on the left, and Jay jumped off the pavement, glid over the road earning a couple angry honks from someone who had had to hop on the brakes. He yelled out a “sorry!” as he entered the park, letting the skateboard slow down as he glanced around to see where Tristan was. He spotted his tall friend sitting near a ramp, and cruised over the asphalt with a couple kicks before jumping off the board and kicking it up into his hand. “Hi Deetee! What’s up?” he asked with a wide grin on his face.
