remembering a video essay i had on in the background the other week that was criticizing one of the hunger games clones (either matched or divergent i cant remember) and most of the points they were making were spot-on ofc but they kept going back to criticizing the mc for describing the society in the book as a utopia when in reality it was super fascist and eugenicist. and it's like. yeah? that's the point of the story??

like for all the shallow writing in those two series, they're both still in the dystopian fiction genre. one of the Main Tropes of dystopian fiction is for the dystopian society to claim to be a utopia and spread that as propaganda. is the collective reading comprehension so far gone that we now need the dystopian love triangle slop protag to inherently know and disclaim constantly how fascist the dystopia is from chapter 1??

Been playing SurrounDead in steam via family share and honestly really enjoying it for a casual semi relaxed solo zombies survival game. Its early access but definitely has good bones and from what Ive seen the dev is active and updates regularly.

I was sneaking in a dark subway under this town with very little ammo like a doofus but 10/10 would do again. Mainly because I have a silencer so I don’t make a loud ruckus. Id have died so fast otherwise 😂
