This bill H.R. 861 - to terminate the Environmental Protection Agency has been introduced. If you live in the U.S. please contact your senator and representative and ask them to vote against this bill. You can do this through their websites or you can call (202) 224-3121 which is the number for the Capitol switchboard and they can transfer you to the correct office. THIS IS IMPORTANT. It is very easy for us to just sit back and feel like we can’t change anything, but this is such a simple thing. Trust me, if enough people call in the representative will care. They want to be re elected.

Jeff Goodell in “Revenge of the Climate Scientists,” Rolling Stone. Read More.
The EPA is supposed to be using the best science out there. They can’t just suddenly say the Earth is flat, CO2 is not a pollutant and coal is the best thing for the world.
Kyla Bennett, a former EPA ecologist who now works for the watchdog group Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility. Read more.
I think this is fundamentally a dumb idea. It’s like a red team-blue team exercise about whether gravity exists.
Andrew Dessler, a professor of atmospheric science at Texas A&M University, on EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt’s plan for a “red team, blue team” approach to climate science. Read more.
Pruitt is avoiding oversight, avoiding environmentalists, avoiding agency staff, and avoiding mainstream media. He is taking steps to corrupt agency science and science communication and loosen regulatory burdens on fossil fuels, in close consultation with industry groups and right-wing media, with as little public scrutiny as possible.
David Roberts, in his article for Vox: “Scott Pruitt is dismantling EPA in secret for the same reason the GOP health care bill was secret”
A top federal scientist working with Alaska Native communities on climate change describes abuses of power and intimidation, while a report details other tactics.

Dana Nuccitelli: The best efforts to undermine the established climate science behind the Endangerment Finding are pathetically bad
As we well know, climate myths are like zombies that never seem to die. It’s only a matter of time before they rise from the dead and threaten to eat our brains. And so here we go again – American conservatives are denying the very existence of global warming.
