it makes me so happy finding out that my friend purposefully avoid my interests because they believe I’m the only one that could like my interests as much as I do. like yes you’re so right thank you for acknowledging it

What does defensive interests mean? That might be me if its what i'm thinking of (we do liklu have PPD) - Sol

Defensive interests are described as something neurodivergent folk experience in which they’re particularly protective or defensive of one or multiple topics! It’s characterized as becoming nervous, or feeling threatened/insignificant when triggered (for lack of a better term)! I’ve attached the carrd below, as it describes it much better than I can!
