I see ya'll's theories that Dani can't settle down because her Obsession is being free & raise you, Dani's Obsession is finding a home where she feels like she belongs & getting to live her own life, so she travels all over the world to find that place.

There's more than one way to be free. So, don't misconstrue freedom with wanderlust.

You can be free to go where you want, but can also be free to live & laugh & learn & even love.

Don't limit freedom to something as narrow-minded as forever moving & never finding a home.

Being able to find a family that loves you & staying with them carries its own sort of inherent freedom to it.

These are the stakes. Too often, in discussions of decolonizing knowledge or decolonizing the university--vernaculars that are now circulating--we lose sight of what is at stake. It's not "transforming universities." It's not "increasing diversity." It's not "making universities safe spaces." These are worthy goals, but they are partial.
