Okay, so we know Godfrey the asshole poisoned Liam’s Mom.
Can we just take a moment to think about how Constantine would have felt if he lived long enough to find out the truth about her death? He was sad about it as it was, and from the flashback we know that he was the one who ordered to use the goblet, without realizing that he sent his wife into the death trap. He felt guilty as it was, and that knowledge would have killed him
So in short, Godfrey should be glad that he “only” has Liam and MC ( if you’re married to him) and the whole gang that are going to beat his ass up, because Constantine would have killed him on the spot
(And old Beaumont is definitely an accomplice)
