Three Wishes (Genie Yandere), I saw that you wanted to make a part 2 but didn’t have any ideas. Might I suggest one? I have a book of Arabian Nights by the Folio Society that has some stories with genies in it, and I think you could take inspiration from the story. The story is called, The Second Calendar (from the larger story, The Three Calendars).
It’s a long tale since it’s technically 3 stories within 1 greater story, but focusing in the second story with the genie in it, essentially a Princess has been kidnapped and married/trapped to a Efrite (in some cases it’s the same as a genie/jinn, but is just classified as a supernatural being) for 25 years. The princess lives in a palace deep within a mountain (accessed by a trapped door with a large bronze ring) where she has all her comforts and luxuries. She has never seen the outside world since the marriage. Her Efrite husband comes on each 10th day to be with her, but she can press on a plate in the wall (or talisman in some versions) to summon him anytime.
A Prince wonders into the trap door, enters, and of course sees the Princess. She tells him of her misfortune, and they spend the next 5 days with each other falling in love (Prince arrived on the 4th day). Prince gets ahead of himself thinking he can slay the Efrite and take the Princess to escape/marry later, and he rashly presses onto the plate/talisman to summon the Efrite much to the Princess trying to prevent him doing so.
As you can imagine, shit hits the fan, Princess urges the Prince to run away/hide as she’s confronted by her husband. He sees the Prince’s shoes and sword, asks Princess whom she’s seen, she tries to deny it, and Efrite ends up easily finding the Prince, demands Princess cut off his head since “she doesn’t know him,” Princess refuses saying that he’s innocent since “she’s never met him,” Efrite then tells Prince he’ll spare him if the Prince cuts off the Princess’s head, Prince also refuses to do it since he loves her too and “he’s never met her and can’t kill an innocent.”
Efrite says he sees love in both their eyes, grows very angry, and proceeds to chop off the Princess’s hands and feet, killing her…His kinda understandable logic being one cannot cheat on another, and it’s their right to kill them (but since this is obviously an Islamic tale…only men own their wives…same rules don’t apply in reverse…gotta love misogyny/patriarchy…)
Now the last of the tale, the Efrite had turned the Prince into an ape (cause that’s his “justice” for laying hands on his wife), and the Prince is picked up by a kingdom impressed that a ape is so knowledgeable. The king summons his daughter (gonna call her princess #2) to see the ape, and Princess #2 immediately knows the ape is a cursed human cause she practices magic, and tells Prince she’ll break the enchantment.
Princess #2 draws a magic circle with lots of symbols in it, summons the Efrite who cursed Prince, Efrite is obviously pissed off, and him and Princess #2 get into a magical fight. Goes on for a bit, but essentially Efrite would turn into an animal, and Princess #2 would do the same, chasing him to try and kill. Here are some of the transformations…Efrite becomes a scorpion, Princess #2 a serpent, then Efrite becomes an eagle, Princess #2 becomes a vulture…and so forth prey and predator.
In the end Princess #2 kills him when they both erupt into literal fire for the last transformations (also accidentally their fight caused Prince to loose 1 eye from the flames). Her fire consumes the Efrite and he turns into ash, with Princess #2 doing so soon after cause the magic was too powerful even for her to wield (but not before enchanting a bowl of water to splash onto the Prince to break his ape curse).
Prince is now human again, and goes off to try and get back to his kingdom (and reclaim his throne that’s part of the larger storyline…). The end.
Now obviously I don’t think a bad ending with Reader’s death is what anyone wants, and fundamentally this story is about the Prince (with women being used as sacrifices/accessories to his story, surprise surprise), but I hope you can take some bits and pieces of inspiration from this story. I tried to only tell you the most critical parts of this story, as there are of course different versions out there, but these were the consistent plot points across them all.
I hope you liked this long ass read 🩷🩷🩷
this was deff a very long ask lmao but it did give me some ideas the first part where I read the first part where the reader was stuck for 20 years and the prince immediately gave me an idea hehehe of like the reader being stuck in the lamp for a long time with the genie. The reader never aged and sometimes she wondered if time stopped when the lamp was found again by a young man. The genie doing his job went out of the lamp but it took a while for the young man to decide his wishes and whatnot. In the middle of that, he meets the reader (the genie had let her take a peek at the world outside the lamp) and falls in love with her. She is also allowed to chat with the young man and the man the more he is with her the more he falls in love and when he finds out the reader was trapped and was once human he thinks of saving her. So for his last wish he asked the genie to release her shackles but what the young man didn't know was that the genie and you were connected in some form and that if you were released he too would be released. Angry that the young man wanted his own wife he wanted revenge and the wish was vague and he got a job to fulfill he granted your freedom but also his.
Short, it was a bad ending for the young man while also the same for the reader cause even tho release Genie still had his magic so he punished the reader back to the lamp or so other punishment I need to think up.
That is a whole nother one-shot right there hehehe~
The latter part is a little difficult for me to think up something nothing really clicks for me currently head only thinking about the first half only lolll
Yes!!! She!! I now have the new dragon serotonin :D
Now I just gotta figure out what she’s doing in Thunder Hollow lol...suggestions appreciated?
things that are happening on twitter: a surprisingly large circle of people who didn’t know about the term emotional labor and/or about the concept of spoons have suddenly learned about them via a widespread tweet asking for more considerate conversation between friends who might not have the capacity to handle heavy discussions at any given time, and have begun calling everyone who isn’t completely capable of talking with/being ranted at by/hearing triggering things from/etc their friends shitty people who are bad friends so that’s just swell
