I have so many headcanons about Flight Rising that I wanna doodle out. Not just headcanons about the physicalities of dragons, but stuff like medicine. It's all too easy in fantasy settings to hand-wave that kinda stuff as "heal it magically" but I like the rep of having mobility aids and medications for dragons

Imagine being a Veilspun pharmacist and you get a prescription request from a Helios-Class sized Imperial and spend the rest of the day with your swarm of fellow pharmacy workers moving pills into a huge jar for pickup

#this is great!#I do a lot of similar things with my clan lore because my lair's magic has been drained so they have to rely on physical medications #and procedures for healing instead of spells #it's been really fun theorycrafting medications and procedures in a way that fits my lore!#I can still have a bit of fun with magic too using primal dragons...lightning dragons make great anesthetists because they can physically #control nerve impulses to block pain and consciousness with the right kind of training :0 #and arcane dragons can canonically sense/manipulate chemical bonds so most synthetic medications would probably arcane-created #I'm a new veterinary student who took a lot of hard science throughout undergrad #so it's been really fun reshaping my headcanons as my understanding of biology and chemistry expands #glad to see there are others out there who like this stuff just as much as I do!#mew's musings #flight rising #fr

#chimney swift for sure #if they could somehow be happy just flying around my house or a large aviary all day and come hang out on my shirt sometimes #I would be very happy!#I was strikingly close to (maybe) being able to take a disabled red-bellied woodpecker home legally when I worked in wildlife rehab #so that would probably be up there as well...they're funny little guys #a blue jay would probably also be a pretty good choice...tbh I think they would make good pet birds #intelligent in the same way a cockatiel is intelligent but not as intelligent and hard to manage as larger psittacines #plus super common in the US and easy to tame #as well as being highly charismatic--though also with a large mischievous streak #the fact of the matter is though that I am too easily overstimulated to make a good full-time bird keeper #which is such a shame because birds are one of my special interests and so fun to interact with #that's why I am headed for exotic/wildlife vet med :> so I can see them during the day and come home to a nice quiet house at night...#not fr

aaking everyone in the world who is experiencing the fr changes to do 3 things

1) if there is a bug/what could be a bug you can check their thread to see if theyve acknowledged it or someone has posted it.

2) if there is a design element you don't like, you can talk about it in suggestions. they have said they are open to it.

3) remember that this is for accessibility and long term AND it is a big change. give it a few days or weeks to see whats just sifferent and what's not working.

and no there is no going back to old site ui. they have said that multiple times.

#the setting page revamp in general is pretty legit tbh #slowly adjusting to the changes and breathing through the stress #it seems like a lot of things can be un-broken (coding-wise) by decreasing the size by 1 #doesn't fix the weird spacing thing that is afflicting multi-image graphics for bios and sigs but it's a start!#we shall see how everything develops and gets de-bugified

Heads-up fellow BBCoding enthusiasts: the UI change has kind-of broken formatting like...a lot. My signature is also super messed up. Looking at the preview, this is either unintentional OR the preview is currently mismatched with some sort of new text rendering engine. It's probably best to give everything a few days to settle out as staff squashes unanticipated bugs before overhauling any of your current coding.

#oooofffffffffffff #I know I will probably get used to this eventually but man I already miss the way it used to look #I know that this will probably help a lot of people and it's probably for the best long term #but the part of my autism that hates when things change is really hating that things have changed #I kind-of wish they made a “legacy version” theme available but I know that would probably be difficult to maintain #none of the layouts work without having a horizontal scrollbar because my laptop is weirdly in between the large screen and computer modes #I guess I will just have to play around with it...
