I think the story behind Dark Wood Circus is Kaichō or freak shows. There might be other 'shows' that I don't know of. The vocaloid characters are show in odd, cruel deformed ways. Miku: goat legs sewed on Kaito: brain changed to a dog's Rin/len: heads sewed to one body. During the Edo period, they have freak show as one of their entertainment.. During the old time, people were cruel and brutal.
