Yami/Kiryu: Kiryu wanting Pharaoh's approval before he proposes to Yuugi

This is pretty late but OH WELL! This will be under a read more because gosh, length!

"You want to.. What?!" Amethyst orbs blinked profusely, as he was remarkably astonished by the confession the taller had presented to him. A cool fingers surfaced to rub the corner of his forehead, as his mind raced to comprehend the details at hand. A groan swiftly drifted past his partly gated lips, a ever so slight shake of a wondering head. Never upon his eternally lasting life time would he have predicted this.

"P-Propose... to Aibou? Are you sure about that? Marriage is a life time commitment... Between two people who are in love. Are you aware of that fact? " He firmly debriefed, his hand falling to join the other at hip. His bold, never-to-quiver amethyst stare pierced directly into the other, a gaze which could penetrate and petrify the soul.

"Kiryu... Are you in love?"

Normally, the mayor of Satisfaction Town was just as confident as the Pharaoh before him. In fact, the spirit of the Millennium Puzzle would say he's obnoxiously cocky. However, this time, after confessing his desired intention for the King's Other Self... The normally so bold Kiryu Kyosuke was a blushing wreak, even fiddling with the harmonica which hung down from his neck. Although, when the Pharaoh asked his question about love, Kiryu managed to look directly into that sharp gaze.

"... I thought about this for awhile, about Yuugi, his impact on my life. He's literally the best thing that happened to me, and I... I can confidently say that I am in love with Yuugi." The mayor confessed, practically proudly at that. Golden orbs seemed to have gently flickered, reflecting a kindness which was foreign to the spirit. But to Yuugi.. that was a familiar sight, wasn't it? The King smiled, as a chuckle escaped. Wow, falling in love! While the taller Game King was suave, coy, could flirt his way into almost any romantic heart.. Falling in love was not a subject he could familiarly tamper with. A book untouched, or as Yuugi would state, a game unwrapped. He was faintly jealous of his partner's experience, though, not to the point of bitterness. More than anything, he was proud!

"If that's what you chose, than you have my approval. There's absolutely no doubt in my mind... You do love him." He nodded, fingers curled to highlight a raised thumb. Kiryu gave a sigh of relief, smiling at that. Such a happy smile that again the Pharaoh wasn't used too.

"... Do you have a ring?" He inquired, followed by the mayor shaking his head. The spirit tilted his head, curious to what excuse could be held there.

"Jack and I are going ring shopping later. Don't worry, I'll have a ring prepared for him!"

What more was need to be asked? Royalty nodded, smiling rather warmly. Kiryu's words were ones he could trust; there was no doubt in his mind! Yuugi's happiness was reassured.

"Well, now, I only have one thing to say!

Defrost where Kiryu is having a nightmare, and Yuugi tries to comfort him!! :OO

"Kyosuke! Kyosuke!" Yuugi called out to his fiancé once he noticed the older duellist was whimpering and shaking. Quickly catching on, he realised Kiryu was having a nightmare and tried to shake him awake. "Kyosuke, wake up!"

And then, with a scream, the silverette sat up and looked around, terror written all over his face. Cold sweat dripped down his face while shaking hands dug themselfes into his arms. Broken sobs left his lips and he cried out, nearly slapping his Sunshine, when he could feel a hand on his shoulder.

Lavender eyes looked at him with concern. What had his Moonlight been dreaming about that terrified him like this? It wasn't the first time Yuugi woke from one of Kiryu's nightmares, but never before had it been this bad. "K-Kyosuke...?"

"I-I'm fine... don't worry about me... go-- go back to sleep..." Kiryu panted, trying to sounds normal, but failing miserably. By know he knew that he couldn't fool Yuugi that easily, but he didn't want his fiancé to worry about him. With a sigh, he let his head fall down against the younger's chest and wrapped his arms around him.

Still terrified by all this, but deteminded to stop Kiryu's shaking, Yuugi leaned his head against the taller's and gently rubbed circles over his back. "It's okay, Kyosuke... I'm here. It.. it was just a dream."

"I know," Kiryu whispered, slowly relaxing into the King's touch. He was here, in his fiancé's arms. There was nothing he had to be afraid of; here he was safe.

For a moment, the two of them stayed like this; Yuugi comfortingly stroking Kiryu's back and Kiryu slowly drifting back off to sleep now that he calmed down a little. But, before Kiryu gave in to his sleepyness, he let a soft smile appear on his face as he whispered,

"I love you..."

Just a small Defrost drabble based on Kuri's and mine Broken AU.

It had been nearly three months since Pharaoh had lost it and broke the Puzzle in his rage and just like every night, Kiryu desperately tried to fix it. All he wanted was to have his fiancé back, was that really too much to ask for? After all he'd been through in his life, Yuugi was the one thing that held him together, prevented him from breaking apart and now... now his Sunshine was gone.

His phone played the playlist he labelled 'Come back...' while he sat on the desk in his room, hovering over the broken Puzzle in yet another attempt at fixing it; the only source of light being the small desk-lamp he bought recently. This playlist probably wasn't the best thing to listen to, seeing as it was filled with songs that either reminded him of Yuugi or of how alone he was not that his loved one was no more.

Kiryu only stopped in his motion of playing with the golden pieces when I still believe started playing and he reached for his phone to turn up the volume to maximum. As the song went on and he listened to the lyrics he suddenly felt even worse. Why wasn't he getting anywhere with this? Why couldn't he save the person he loved more than anything else? Why was he so useless?

As he kept thinking about those things he could feel himself tearing up, and a broken sounding chuckle left his lips. Looking down at the Puzzle piece he was currently holding, he spoke. ”Hah... how long has it been since I cried over you? Two weeks... that's how long I managed to keep it at least partly together...” His broken chuckles slowly evolved into forced laughter. ”I'm... I'm really pathetic, aren't I? I'm so desperately trying to save you... but I can't... all I do is fail at this task... even Pharaoh isn't any help here. Funny isn't it...? Considering that asshole lived in that thing for quite a while...”

In a wave of despair, he lashed out and threw his lamp off the table, ripping the cable out of the socket in the process. If the music hadn't woken anyone up by now, the sound of the lamp hitting the wall with full force and crashing to the ground surely did. Not that he cared. He didn't care about anything besides fixing the Puzzle to get Yuugi back.

Clinging to the piece he was holding, Kiryu slowly sank to his knees; hot tears streamed down his pale face and he didn't give a fuck about whether or not anyone could hear him cry.

”P-please... come back... I-I can't take this any more...” The song was about to reach its end when, on the other side of the locked door, Pharaoh frantically bounded against the door, yelling for Kiryu to open up and let him in before he does anything stupid. Only the mayor couldn't hear him.

Too absorbed in his sobbing and listening to last few lines of the song, he was holding onto the Puzzle piece as tight as he could, causing one of the edges to cut through his skin. And as the last ten seconds played, a few drops of blood dropped down his palm as he cried out Yuugi's name.

So basically millenniumbond challenged me to turn Miku's song Melt into angst...

Waking up this morning, I only had one thought inside my mind. Yes, it was you.

Golden eyes looked beyond tired as they examined their owner's reflection in the bathroom mirror. Silver locks were messily tangled and stood out at every angle. Black bags under his eyes spoke volumes. The man obviously hadn't slept very well the past few days, if he slept at all.

Had a haircut the other day, So you could notice and then say to me, “Why the new style?”

He looked so much younger now that he was back to his old hairstyle. Still unable to believe he cut his hair the day before, Kiryu lifted a hand and twirled his index finger around the end of some strands. Would he have liked it? Well... he did say it looked good on him when Kiryu showed him some old pictures.

I put on my pink skirt and flower hair clips.

A heavy sigh escaped his lips as he carelessly combed his hair and threw a glance at his clothes currently resting on the toilet seat. He wasn't ready for this, but he had to go through with it. That much he owed him. Biting his lips to the point he almost drew blood, Kiryu reached out his shaking hands, picking up the black suit he was about to put on.

I step outside and tell myself, Today you will see how cute I really can be!

Not even a fake smile could make him look any less dead and broken. The white of his eyes was slightly reddened, his face even paler than usual – especially notable due to the black clothing he was wearing. Other than that, this outfit probably made him look quite dashing. Too bad his beloved wasn't able to see him like this.

I'm melting as I think of you.

He wasn't sure if he was mentally present during all this or not. All he knew was that he felt like he was melting away to nothingness. It had been years since he felt this empty; since he felt like he was falling into a very dark and endless pit.

I can't even look at your eyes. However will I get my feelings across to you?

Now it was over. He stood on the spot he never wanted to stay, tears threatening to spill. Not allowing himself to cry, the silver-haired averted his gaze to the ground, silver bangs hiding part of his face as he desperately tried to keep it together.

Oh, I am hardly breathing!

Choking out a couple of sobs, Kiryu finally dropped to his knees. He was done. Broken beyond repair. Nothing in this godforsaken world would ever manage to drag him out of this. He was stuck in this bottomless pit, endlessly screaming for help; screaming for him to come and pull him into a tight embrace.

As our hands touch, you'll see, I'm trembling! My heart beats hard.

He jumps slightly as he feel a warm hand on his shoulder. Not needing to look up to know who it was, the mayor just lets himself go. Curling his hands into fists, he hit the ground as hard as he ccould manage, screaming out his lovers name in agony. It was never supposed to end like this.

Already missing you, I never want to say goodbye.

Warm hands take a hold of his cold, bleeding ones. He faintly hears him saying it's time to go. No, he doesn't want to. How can he expect him to just leave the love of his life alone like that? But no matter how much he struggles, he is not allowed to sit there.

I take you in my arms and say “I love you.” …

He feels himself being dragged off the floor, his arm securely put around the raven's shoulders. His body was dragged away as he turned his head and golden orbs took a last glance at what was left of his life.

… In my dreams.
