JT (from the first couple seasons) and Toby are the same are Arthur and Yick. Why? Well, I’m glad you asked.

JT and Yick both wear oversized shirts, often tye dye.

Toby and Arthur both have stepsisters who hate them

JT and Yick both have comically disorganized lockers

Toby and Arthur are both nerds who attempt (and fail) at sports

JT and Yick are both bad at school

There’s a plot in DJH where Yick and Arthur try to watch a porno movie. In TNG, there’s a similar plot where Toby and JT watch porn on Toby’s family computer. They are thwarted both times.

JT and Yick are both strangely fascinated with sex, despite never having even dated before (for the first couple seasons obviously)

In both DJH and TNG, there’s a wet dream plot involving those two pairings.

They’re both wholesome sets of best friends who are basically brothers and have had each other’s backs from the start.
