As a kid, he used to be addicted to Plants Vs Zombies and got back into it bcs of Jared bcs why not

He has a cactus plant he keeps in his room. Before when he was a kid, it belonged to Heidi and he loves taking care of it but accidentally pricks himself. Heidi always rushes to help him whenever he starts crying because of it- founds out he loves it and gave it to him.

He used to borrow books from the library- whether it was for school, on how to take care of the environment and stuff, or whatever- he reads it out of boredom or curiosity. He made a friend which is the librarian but they moved away and he stopped going bcs the new one seems scary to him.

Meeting Jared at summer camp

A/n: this is a part of a larger fic I'm working on so I’ll keep it vague

It's like this kid has made it his mission to ruin your summer

He’s crude, rude and always acts like he’s better than you

And on top of all that he seems to always be around to make a snarky remark when you are trying to enjoy life with your friends

But the thing that annoys you the most is his bragging

He always claims that back home, he's treated like a god

He has a lot of friends that are cooler than yours and insists on having a super hot vixen girlfriend that is, just by the way, hotter than you

You wonder why here at camp he doesn't even have a half of that

Not that you think about him often! Pff, he’s just some guy you hate

Anyways

As you start to get paired up more (in order to break the obvious tension between you two) you notice he’s sort of… Alright

He makes you laugh and doesn't always seem so inattentive like he did before

Worryingly enough you started to find him interesting

He still looks down on you but his act is slipping

You two still are not friends of course!

Just two campers who have to spend time together, nothing more

But it would be a lie to claim that inviting him into your friend group hasn't crossed your mind

You doubt he would accept though

As lonely as he seems he’s equally proud

So you do nothing and let the summer go by

Only a few days before departure you were proved wrong

After a failing out with your friends, your group scattered around, not wanting to sit together

You decided to sit alone

That's when you heard someone plop down on the log by your side

“God, (Y/n) you look pathetic”

It's none other than Jared Kleinman, of course

Whether you decide to ignore him or actually dignify him with a response, he can tell something is off and stays by your side

Finally you ask him, why he did that

“I just felt bad looking at you (L/n), you were sitting here all alone”

He tries to play it off as if he was doing you a favour

But he’s not looking at you when he says that

And his voice doesn't seem so convincing

It's pretty clear he needed company as much as you did

Or more

So you smile

Maybe Jared isn't so annoying after all

• at that larry stood up too, going off to grab his baseball bat

• larry comes back

• connor slowly sits down

• cynthia is silent but looks very worried

• "it's just me."

• then zoe starts to cry

• "and before i say anything i want you to know that i am still me. i'm the same person."

• she fidgets, looking at her nails (she has sparkly purple acrylics)

• "......i'm gay."

• connor reaches for one of her hands and holds it

• cynthia: "oh honey..."

• larry just stands there unsure of what to say

• then suddenly

• "are you sure it wasn't just that boy hansen?"

• "dad, im positive i like girls. not just because of a bad experience with a boy."

• cynthia: larry just let her be

• connor just squeezes her hand and

• "just remember, if you get hurt...im not afraid to hit a girl."

• he smiles and walks off and cynthia is shook and just "cONNOR"

Evan x Sick!Reader

Headcanons that nobody asked for :) (aka me? self projecting? never!!)

-As soon as you told Evan you weren’t coming to school, he was anxious.

-Yes, he had Jared and Connor, but you were his main support system during the school days.

-”Do you need me to hold your hand or something, Evan? Since (Y?N) isn’t here? You look like you’re about to piss yourself with nerves every five seconds.”

-”Shut up, Jared.”

-School lets out and he goes to your house and finds you trying to sleep under 3 blankets, plus your sheets and covers.

-He is kinda scared because he doesn’t want to get sick, too he doesn’t want to disturb you, so he tiptoes over and rubs your back.

-You let out a sneeze and he Y E E T S backwards

-how dare u scare this poor boy w/ a sneeze smh

-You roll over and see Evan standing there, tugging on his jacket. He smiles and gives a halfhearted wave.

-You try to smile back, but your headache is pounding, so it comes out as kind of a grimace.

-Evan sees that you’re in pain and tears up a little bit. He hates to see anyone in pain, but especially you.

-//protec mode activated//

-”Do you need me to get you anything? Some soup? Some water? Candy? Socks? A-”

-”An advil would be nice. I forgot to-”

-Boy zooms out of the room to your cabinet

-then he remembers this isn’t his house and struggles to find it for a few minutes but it’s okay he found them

-He watches you struggle to sit up, and finally reaches under your arms to help you.

-Once you take it, along with your other meds, you’re out.

-For the rest of the afternoon, he sits beside your bed and watches over you. Since you’re sleeping, he gets out you makeup work that he picked up for you and copies his version so you don’t have to worry about it. (goals)

-You wake up and are super achey, so Ev runs you a warm bath.

-He doesn’t want you to lift a finger. He even tries to carry you bridal-style to your bathroom, but you end up just shuffling in there.

-”Okay (Y/N), I’ll leave you to it.”

-”Ev...stay. Please?”

-MMMmm blushy boy but you’re his sick bab so he’ll stay and help you

-He helps you lower into the bath and you instantly feel so much better.

-He sits in the floor next to you, and you run your hand through his hair while you lean over the edge, nearly asleep.

-He soaks a washcloth and runs it over your back, and you lean into the touch.

-He won’t let you kiss him because you’re sick, but he doesn’t stop telling you he loves you.

-You lay back in bed to sleep for the night. 

-Ev makes you drink some water first, though, because hydration is KEY.

-He brushes your hair until you’re asleep, and then he heads back home.

-Of course, he sends you a goodnight text about how much he loves you, even if you don’t see it until morning.

Day 14 - Watching Christmas Movies with Jared

hi!! psa i know jared is canonically jewish (or at least his family is) and i respect that! this is an au where jared celebrates Christmas w the reader :)) thank u for reading!

-jared’s fav christmas movie is probs the grinch w jim carrey bc that is high quality meme material yknow??

-that was random but anyways

-you’ve caught a cold

-and you’re feeling super bummed because having a cold during winter is the worst second only to having a cold during summer

-around 10, you felt someone gently rubbing your back

-you rolled over and there was your loving boyfriend with that huge smile on his face, and you smiled

-and then you sneezed

-whoops

-jared carried you bridal style to your couch and turned netflix on

-”today is all about you, princess. what would you like to watch first?”

-you mumbled a bunch of nonsense and pulled a blanket over yourself, nuzzling into jared’s side

-jared reached for the remote

-”well, i guess we’ll have to watch the grinch then-”

-your hand stopped his

-”no”

-so you decided to turn on ‘mickey’s twice upon a christmas’ to get that nostalgic feel

-and wow, the animation wasn’t very good

-then, because you’ve been dying to see it, you watched the rockette’s ‘radio city christmas spectacular’

-jared was super sweet to you

-”babe, you are better than any of those girls up there.”

-you just laughed, but it was sweet of him to say

-in between movies jared would bring you medicine and food, and he even cooked you some ramen for lunch

-then, because it was in the recommended, you watched ‘white christmas’

-holy crap, it was a long movie.

-and you...may or may not have fallen asleep halfway through

-so then you watched ‘the christmas prince’ because it started playing automatically while you two slept

-when you woke up, you laughed at the hallmark-esque vibes it was giving off

-not that all hallmark movies are bad, but they’re easy to make fun of due to their similar plots

-the line that made you laugh the hardest was when the after the prince proposed. the woman had moved back to new york to run a story about him, and she ended up quitting her job over it. after he got down on one knee she said, “But-but my career!!”

-and you both shouted, “WHAT CAREER?!” and fell out laughing.

-wasn’t even that funny tbh but neither of you had left the house that day, so everything was starting to get funny

-you looked at the time and noticed that it was around 7, but you didn’t mind

-you let “a christmas inheritance” begin

-that’s when you fell asleep on each other again. it was literally the same plot omg

-you finally decide you’ve had enough of the movies, and you both decide jared should just spend the night since he’s already here and it’s already late

-you crawl into your bed and you place your head on his chest, sighing at the warm sensation

-you sure loved your boy and christmas movies
