I mentioned it to my roommate that my sister gave me a beautiful planner at the beginning of the year. It's so beautiful that I'm afraid to use it and ruin it :') It was a trivial conversation a few days ago because I'm terrible at organizing myself AND I NEED to get organized, so I usually organize myself on paper because it's more practical for me... except they're all over the house lol

Then today he just arrived and gave me the most UGLY AND HORRIBLE planner I have ever received. It's a really ugly purple color (I like purple, just that shade... nope), with pink, light blue, yellow and green mandalas, AND AN ELEPHANT ON THE COVER. It's simple, cheap, tacky, and I hate it at first glance

"Now you can use it without feeling like you're going to ruin it" my roommate told me. And guys. I absolutely adore this boy. It's the most randomly sweet thing anyone irl has done for me in the last few months :'D

First physiotherapy day TT wish me luck

My brain decided it would be a GREAT idea to create a little danmei rpg game. Here are my sister's highlighted comments regarding the plot and planning:

"Someone's going to find a way to add mods to this and live their own baihe adventure"

"...you know people are going to ship the different Systems, right?"

"Wait, is it going to have a WickedWhims mod like the Sims? ... You know there are people who are going to create a mod of that if you don't do it, right?"

"Are you telling me you're going to add a brothel and not make ANY of the brothel characters romanceable? THAT'S NOT FAIR"

"If you keep adding cliché love interests someone is going to complain so much about this game that they'll actually transmigrate into it"

I have no idea how long this will take (a long time, probably) but I wanted to share it and laugh with you lol

Life updates:

Good things:

→ I'm not sick anymore! :D The antibiotics worked, and although I still have a slight scratchy throat, I can breathe now!

Bad things:

→ My laptop charger broke. Again. At this point I'm thinking either I'm exceptionally clumsy or the elves are sabotaging me

→ My orthopedic surgeon says I will probably need knee surgery. Which is awful, and I'm switching between a cane and crutches all the damn time. Fortunately, I'm just with a cane now, but that's something I'll have on the table

→ Tomorrow (in a few hours) I will have to leave my town to take care of my narcissistic biological mother. She had a bad fall, broke her arm in two, and will need emergency surgery. Unfortunately, I am the only person who can take care of her, and my sense of morality prevents me from stepping aside. But oh, how I wish

→ As a result of the stress (according to the emergency room doctor), my blood pressure went boop and is through the roof. With a blood pressure of 168/108 and 156/115 (average) I've been having severe nosebleeds, an unbearable headache, and migraines that barely let me open my eyes this morning. Now I have a new meds to keep my blood pressure down and an order to calm down and relax (that won't happen anytime soon)

...and I think that's all for now. Oh wow guys and gays that author's note when I update will be legendary /j

Anyway. I just wanted to let you know! My mental health is so-so, but I'm too busy to be depressed, so I'll be fine!! :'D

In a few weeks it will be a year since my sister and I went to an local convention, and when we both ran into an EXCELLENT Luo Binghe cosplayer and I was taking a picture with him, my sister (the very cheeky one) said to him: "Hey, could you give them a dirty look? Of much hate and contempt and so on. They will like the picture better that way."

A YEAR SINCE THAT HUMILIATION. AND I STILL REMEMBER IT ALMOST DAILY. WHAT A SHAME

The worst thing is that she was right lol

Me: So, my novel is about (summary of my original BL romance with fantasy novel)

Roommate: For some reason I thought it would be like. You know. Asian characters

Me: Is it because I write danmei fics?

Roommate: Basically, yes

Me: I don't feel confident enough to write about original Asian characters yet TT

Roommate: How long have you been writing danmei fanfics? Two years? Three?

Me: Hmm, how long ago was the pandemic?

Roommate: Oh my god, REALLY?!

First of all, I hadn't considered HOW LONG I've been reading danmei and writing fanfics about it. Second LOL I still don't really feel confident enough in my knowledge of ancient China to write any original stories about it. I suppose writing fics about danmei characters is a bit more like playing around, even though I do some research on it
