Summary: Ethos springs an idea on Deimos. It takes some persistence to convince him. Luckily, Ethos has that in spades.
Yes, I did do a third Ethos (and second Deithos) short fic for the winter challenge. When I saw the theme for today was going to be Post-War (Hopeful) I went straight to my WIPs folder, knowing I had a few post-war ideas in there already. While two of them didn’t quite fit (and one was already way too long for the purpose of the challenge), lo and behold, this one from May of 2019 which hadn’t been touched since was a perfect match.
It was almost fully written, albeit still in a raw, single long paragraph format from being copy-pasted directly out of my phone’s notes app. I think I left it because I was planning on adding a smut scene at the end, but reading it back over three years later I decided it was perfect as-is. It always feels good to clear the decks of a WIP that’s been hanging around for a while!
Also, this is the 40th SF fic I’ve posted to AO3! I feel like that’s an accomplishment in and of itself. Technically I’ve written a few drabbles that are only on tumblr that I should probably move over, too.
