when I can't pray aloud, or don't want to speak out loud, I find journaling with my spirits and entities a great way to connect and communicate with them.

I kinda was thinking about how my little pony's celestia is a god in her own right, and twilight writes letters to her... I'm a little surprised, but not really, since anyone could have predicted that my favourite childhood/preteen show would have worked some inspiration into my practice.

So, I start with the date, and like i'm writing a letter to a friend, I write "Dear (entity name)" and start telling them all about my day. They really seem to enjoy it!

30 Days of Freyja - Day 2

How did I become aware of Freyja?

Like many modern Norse pagans, I took an interest in Norse mythology after watching "The Avengers" and seeing Chris Hemsworth as Thor. I read a few myths here and there, but I never dove deep. At the time, I didn't know paganism was an option for me, so I continued to stay agnostic and read lore mainly to see the influence that Marvel took. I want to say reading into Frigg's history was the first true introduction to Freyja, but I don't remember enough to say for sure.

When I started my journey into paganism, I started as just a general witch with interests in the gods. I joined a Discord server that has many types of pagans. I didn't feel a strong connection to the Kemetic or Hellenic pantheon, but I did have an interest in the Norse. While doing this research, I did have someone reaching out, but the vibes almost reminded me of Aphrodite. It wasn't until I meditated one night that a women filled my head surrounded by a golden light. I couldn't make out her face, but she had a very strong presence. I did a tarot reading immediately after that meditation and finally figured out the presence I had been feeling was Freyja.

Hey!! First off; sorry for lack of posts. I never see any witchcraft/Paganism related posts on my dash anymore.

Second off: anyone have any insight into writing a journal to a deity? I feel like that would be best for me because my parents are nosy and would probably walk in on me talking to them :/ so I was wondering: how do I make sure they get my message? How effective is a journal? How do I address them?

(I specifically want to talk to Freyja as of now, but I referred to multiple deities because I may work with more in the future :D)

30 Days of Deity Devotion - Day 1

Decided to start the 30 days of Deity Devotion challenge. I don't think I'll have the energy or time to write something every day, but my goal is to get through the prompts in about 2 months. I of course chose Freyja, mainly because I feel like I've been slacking in spending time with her and I wanted to really dive into why I have chosen to devote myself to her.

The text reads as follows:

Day 1 - A basic introduction to Freyja

Freyja at her base is a goddess of love, beauty, magic, and war. She is said to have brought magic, or seidr, to the Aesir and is considered one of the first seidkonas. Freyja is said to have many prizes possessions, including her gold necklace, Brísingamen, and her falcon cloak. She is connected to cats, as two cats pull her chariot, and also boards, since she has a gold bristle swine called Hildisvíni. Freyja has her own hall in Folkvangr called Sessrumnir, where she keeps half of those slain in battle. She is a beautiful and powerful warrior and witch.
