when I can't pray aloud, or don't want to speak out loud, I find journaling with my spirits and entities a great way to connect and communicate with them.

I kinda was thinking about how my little pony's celestia is a god in her own right, and twilight writes letters to her... I'm a little surprised, but not really, since anyone could have predicted that my favourite childhood/preteen show would have worked some inspiration into my practice.

So, I start with the date, and like i'm writing a letter to a friend, I write "Dear (entity name)" and start telling them all about my day. They really seem to enjoy it!

Finally ordered a journal that’s going to be specifically for Lady Asteria, so all her prayers etc. will go in there!

hello! i'm kai! i'm a closeted hellenic pagan, and i started a secret journal where i can dedicate myself to my practice in a safe way. this is my first entry, and my plans are to always have some sort of hymn/more formal prayer on the front and have a more personal part on the back (that part is very private haha! it's not in the pics). in the picture, i have a hand written and shorter version of the homeric hymn to Apollo, translated by rodney merrill! i want to incorporate more stickers, drawings and such to my entrys as i go! it's not perfect but im so insanely happy about how it turned out!

So far Dionysos’ and Zeus’ sections are the only ones I have done! Ares’ is started as is Aphrodite’s and Phobos and Deimos’! I have prayers, deity cheat-sheets, stuff from offerings I’ve given them, epithet lists, etc. in there for them. It’s kind of sloppy but I’m not an artist in any sense of the word, but I enjoy working on the journal. It’s a labor of love, not an art project for a grade. Also in Ares’, Zeus’, and Dionysos’ sections I have art from the little booklet that came with the Hades game when I got it and I literally used an xacto knife and painstakingly cut them out lol my wrists hurt so bad after that. But yeah, I don’t know, just thought it’d be fun to share and hopefully provide some ideas if you’re looking into making a journal as well.

The thing I love about deity journals is that they can be as simple or elaborate as you want them to be! And I think that’s what makes them so special.

What message do you have for me?

Eros | eight of swords rx. Keywords are release, acceptance, accountability, discovery, awakening, liberation, and an open mind for change. Upon cutting ties with two people in my life, I began a relationship with Eros. This new relationship is beginning to grow & will help me let go of the past allowing me to transition into a better version of myself. He is excited for this new relationship. He’s proud of me for taking on this new relationship with him and having an open mind to a new path such as his & love witchcraft.

Persephone | page of swords. Keywords are thoughtfulness, clarity, curiousity, restlessness, inquisitive, verbose, and lively. I know exactly what Persephone is talking about. I had started a relationship with her on imbolc, setting up her altar and offering her a gift whilst I prayed. But since then, I haven’t done a spell or a ritual in her name. She has a million ideas and desires for us to do and achieve; she’s becoming impatient and pouty at my lack of action. She’s extremely excited and urges me to speak to her and progress the relationship.

Apollon | queen of pentacles. Keywords are Prosperity, pleasure, motherly, security, nourishment, and hearth. I’m so soft,,, Apollon is saying he is taking care of me, watching over me, and healing me. I had prayed to him earlier today if he could help me with my mental illness as they have been hindering me quite a bit & the cold I had just gotten. He’s always tended me like a father tbh, so protective and coddling when it comes to my emotional & physical well being. He’s so cute, I am so in love with him.
