@deityproject - i. introduction | la muerte Oscuridad –– also known as La Muerte (“death”) –– is the deity of death and darkness. Once revered, she has since been cast out and turned into a devil-like figure, her worship and name banned in all places. She rules the underworld, alone and mostly forgotten, unable to return to her godly home because of Luz, the goddess of light and life. Since her casting out, no one has seen signs of La Muerte. Some even begin to think she’s nothing more than a children’s fairytale meant to make them behave. Only a few know the truth...

i. mist: la muerte loves mist and fog, especially as it curls off the mountains in the morning. it when the lighting is softest and it reminds her of a time when the world was young and full of magic. on days when there’s a heavy fog, she likes to pretend she’s the only one in the world.

ii. hot chocolate: she loves humans, but she loves their foods even more. spicy hot chocolate is her favorite. it warms her from the inside out and makes her think this is what love feels like.

iii. spiders: spiders are one of many nocturnal animals associated with her. she admires their industriousness and the delicacy of their webs. la muerte has also found spiders are often the most intuitive little creatures and the most trustworthy.

iv. flowers: despite being the goddess of death, la muerte loves flowers. sadly, they don’t last forever. she has a vast flower garden surrounding her home that she tends lovingly. {insp}
