Volo and Esilio designs I made for @bl00dblight's Volo wins au (Damned Apotheosis)
Descriptions taken from their Instagram:
Volo:
New year, new...universe? With Volo's vanquishment of Arceus complete, a new world is born. You, everyone you know, and all the Pokémon that once inhabited the vast world vanished in an instant, as if they'd never been. But is it truly a "better" world that Volo sought? Not at all. There may be no more Arceus, no more selfish creator who let suffering run rampant, but now Volo has to burden the role of creator and Deity. Such a task is far too much for any human, and Volo discovers that hubris has arrived for him under the veil of what he thought was all of his desires. This was never meant to happen. Yet, it has, and now suffering is the main piece of the new universe due to Volo's negligence. The world is unstable, filled with holes within reality's seams, and the humans and Pokémon must all learn to thrive together in the light of a Deity evermore silent than Arceus. Being a God is not a job for a human, and now Volo has fallen more than ever from his dreams of a better world. What is he to do now with no more knowledge to seek or riddles to solve? ... Continue to wear his hair in the most obnoxious Arceus style you've ever seen, I guess.
Esilio:
But who said suffering had to be alone…?
Bound by love and the same desire to conquer Arceus and create a new universe free of strife, Esilio joins Volo under the title of Deity. While Volo is the creator, Esilio is the upholder. One holds what Arceus and Giratina once cultivated (the Celestial Realm where Volo and Esilio lay, the Pokémon world where people and Pokémon thrive, and the Distortion World which is under constant pressure in attempt to correct and balance the faults in space-time), and the other takes Palkia and Dialga's roles regarding space and time. However, none of this maintenance is as simple as either thought it would be, and thus the universe they created is unstable. They are simply trying their best to keep things together while also ignoring the mistake they've made. They've utterly failed in regards of being unlike Arceus. Yet, together they will remain, having each other's backs as they've always promised. After all, Esilio doesn't have all the knowledge that Volo does. Perhaps there remains hope for Volo's love of sharing his findings with his partner. Esilio still holds the gifts of his husband close, and supports him in any way he can. Even when both are utterly miserable and just want to lay around and do nothing.
