Hey, so uh... About the entire Harry Maguire thing.
I don't think we need to discuss Lovren and the way he worded that comment, but that shit prompted me to talk about something important, and I might get shit for this, but please bear with me for a moment.
Harry Maguire's biggest haters were the Manchester United fans. Not us, not the City fans... Them. And that same guy brought them a win against us, their biggest rivals.
If you forget about banter for a moment, you'll see that, as a fanbase, we've headed in the same toxic direction as them.
Sure, as Liverpool fans, it's obvious we don't like them, and they don't like us. But all of this NEEDS to remain within the 'sports' area. Like I can't stand Bruno Fernandes, but I won't go out of my way to harrass him and his family, you know? He's a human being and I'm not a fucking bully, just a Liverpool fan.
Again, I might get shit for this - but I kiiiinda have to agree that if anyone deserves to prove a point and score an important goal like that for Manchester United, it's Maguire. Why? Cause his own fans have treated him like shit, and I know for a fact he's been getting bullied for years.
Remember the Darwin bullying? That wasn't Manchester United fans. That was us. Say what you want about him, but he loved this club. And what he went through was more than harsh.
Next... Robbo. Didn't he disable his comments for a few days? It was getting to him. All the shit we as a fanbase said about him, it was getting too much, and I don't blame him at all. And those two are just the recent examples.
Liverpool or not, I love it when the bullied prove people wrong.
The one thing our fanbase should learn from this is to be better - to back our players. We're all aware we're going through difficult times, and seeing the Mo slander... It's not looking good chat.
Let's make sure we're not our club's biggest haters, okay? Please, guys. Let's back our players.
