BACK IN TIME: LADY GAGA ATTENDS SINGAPORE PRESS CONFERENCE IN BECKY SHORT DRESS

Lady Gaga held a ‘Born This Way’ press conference in Singapore on July 7, 2011 to promote her stay and album in the country. 

While Nicola Formichetti did the styling, Tara Savelo did the flawless makeup and Frederic Aspiras the fabulous teal tower wig, respectively.

From the moment Gaga appeared at her press conference sporting an unusual magnificent beige dress, everyone wanted to know who the talented designer behind it was. Meet Rebecca Short, head behind her label Becky Short. 

When asked about this look, Short said “The theme for the collection was looking into negative space. Whilst carrying out the project I looked at various artists work including Gordon Matta-Clark, Rachel Whitread and minimalist artists Donald Judd and John Pawson. The dress was created from some experimental work I carried out based on the work of Gordon Matta-Clark, who slices into buildings opening them up to expose the insides, whilst still maintaining the structure of the building. I cut into the shoulder seam of a pattern piece and opened it out adding in excess fabric that wouldn't normally be there, giving the exaggerated shoulder you see in the dress.I didn't ever envisage any particular person wearing the dress. I was just working hard to produce a collection I was proud of and wanted to achieve the best degree I could.”

Her sunglasses are vintage 1961 Dejourview C2 that she purchased from Vintage Frames Company.

BACK IN TIME: LADY GAGA DONS ROGGYKEI

Lady Gaga sat down for an interview with Channel V Taiwan during her stay in Taipei. She later shared the fashion deets herself via her Tumblr with the quote “In fashion, you know you have succeeded when there is an element of upset. In pop, you know you have succeeded when there is an element of crime”.

Gaga kept it chic in a black collared sheer mini dress with half cape from Japanese Tokyo-based fashion label Roggykei’s 2011 “Psycho” collection.

Her retro sunglasses are vintage 1961 Dejourview C2 that she purchased from Vintage Frames Company.

She also wore a long fingerless black leather gloves which Gaga herself said she found at “a stripper store”.

BACK IN TIME: LADY GAGA’S SYDNEY “MONSTER” HALL

On July 13, 2011 Lady Gaga decided to treat her Australian monsters with a very special, one-of-a-kind show which took place at Sydney Town Hall (Gaga changed it to Sydney Monster Hall for a day). The show celebrated the release of “Born This Way” in Australia. 

Gaga was styled by Nicola Formichetti and Brandon Maxwell.

Gaga asked Versace to design all of the stage looks exclusively just for this performance. 

The first costume comprises a nude chiffon catsuit with strong shoulders, showered in Swarovski crystals in all kinds of sizes. It was accompanied by a studded gold Medusa wrestling belt. 

Her dancers all wore custom Zana Bayne leather harnesses.

Her gold sunnies with geometric grid pattern along the sides are vintage Dior Edith frames!

Next, the songstress sported vintage 1980 Givenchy logo button clip-on earrings.

The black patent lace-up ankle boots with pointed toes and red bottoms are a customized version of Pleaser’s Seduce-1020 boots.

Moving on with the second look! 

Gaga took the stage in a black and silver crystal-embellished zig zag cut-out bodysuit with black mesh insert and exposed back zipper. The strong shoulders make an appearance again!

Let’s not forget these! These are her iconic and favorite Savannah boots from Penthouse.

Can’t decide if this one’s my favorite or the next look. 

Here Gaga rocks another bespoke bodysuit with black mesh insert, fully covered in jet black crystals and featuring a gold-studded leather sculpture, inspired by vintage couture collections.

In this backstage photo we can spot her wearing the vintage 1961 Dejourview C2 that she purchased from Vintage Frames Company.

Finally, Gaga performed “Judas” in a vintage look from 1996 which comprised these spandex leggings printed with a fruit, butterfly and baroque pattern.

She also wore a black blazer which she paired with a button-embellished bra top from Instituto Marangoni graduate label Zeine by Jordanian designer Zein Malhas!

She completed the look with a single large crystal hoop earrings, the Chanel 01455 oversized shield sunglasses with chain embellishment from Vintage Frames Company...

...and vintage Versace black leather belt with Medusa emblems (similar pictured).

BACK IN TIME: LADY GAGA LEAVES CHATEAU MARMONT IN SAINT LAURENT, DEJOUR & VERSACE

Lady Gaga was photographed leaving the Chateau Marmont hotel in Los Angeles late at night on July 26, 2011 dressed as a dream in white. Here are the details you need to know!

Gaga was donning the white satin full-sleeve bow blouse with crystal-embellished gold chain neck detail and flowing white silk jersey palazzo pants ensemble, look #35 from Saint Laurent’s Fall/Winter 2011 collection.

She also wore her vintage 1961 Dejourview C2 that she purchased from Vintage Frames Company.

The look was completed with a pair of the Dvea black leather strappy platform sandals from Versace’s Spring/Summer 2010 collection.

Lady Gaga was photographed exiting the Four Seasons hotel in Sydney, Australia on July 12, 2011 heading to bikram yoga. Here’s what she wore!

The fashion mogul rocked a Valentino Resort 2012 red stretch cady cross-back jumpsuit featuring bateau neckline, dolman sleeves, draped blouson bodice, fitted waist, with straight legs skim down.

The sunnies are vintage 1961 Dejourview C2 that she purchased from Vintage Frames Company.

Another vintage treasure is this Chanel caviar skin vanity cosmetic case bag featuring etachable shoulder strap, large gold CC twist lock closure on the front, 2 zipped pockets and mirror inside.

Custom pink Lady Mary platform ankle boots by Japanese shoe designer Noritaka Tatehana completed the look.
