For Cirak! ~ 1-7, 31, 33, 40, 41, 50 (Get to know my character) please? :)
1. What does your character’s name mean? Did you pick it for the symbolism, or did you just like the way it sounded?
The way it sounded played a big role in picking the name. The soft “c” at the beginning followed by an almost guttural “rak” kinda matches that dual nature of his personality.
I’m actually not sure I’ve ever officially said how his name is pronounced. Think of it phonetically like “see rack.”
2. What is one of your character’s biggest insecurities? Are they able to hide it easily or can others easily exploit this weakness?
I think he’s pretty insecure about his finances; how much credits he has in his bank. He does enjoy bounty hunting, loves the adrenaline that comes with it and the action he sees and the places he goes. However, there are other things he’d rather do, but knows money is a finite thing and it’ll eventually run out. Thus he’s always trying to get just a bit more money like a gambling addict playing “just one more round.” It’s not hard to exploit, especially in his line of work.
3. What would be their favorite physical trait about themselves?
His mustache. He’s rather proud of it, and is convinced he’s one of the only people that can pull it off (personally I think he’s right).
4. What are their favorite traits about their lover? (one psychological and one physical)
Psychologically it’s Dekon’s determination. The guy just does not give up. He is driven, focused, and somehow always manages to corral Cirak right back to wherever they need to be if he ever gets distracted. He has indomitable willpower, and sticks to his own code of ethics. It’s something Cirak wishes he could emulate.
Physically, Cirak thinks Dekon has a very sexy butt :P
5. Are they sexually confident or more of the shy type?
Cirak is a confident man when it comes to sex. Similar to what I said about Raz, Cirak isn’t very flustered by sex and approaches it quite casually. Unlike Raz, though, who keeps things casual to avoid getting hurt, Cirak is much more attuned to the dangers of his line of work. He could die on any given job, so why not live for the moment? Have fun? Cirak doesn’t see any reason why he shouldn’t, and doesn’t give an f- if people judge him for it. Even when he realized his bisexuality and his attraction to Dekon, despite having never been with a man before, his reaction was less “this is uncharted territory for me” and more “Stars I want him to plow me like a field.”
6. Do they have any hobbies that their lover finds unusual, odd, or otherwise annoying?
Cirak really enjoys swoop racing, and even went semi-pro in it for a little while. Dekon doesn’t understand the point of racing for fun or competition. Practicality or transportation is the only reason he’ll ride in a swoop bike.
7. Is there a catchphrase or sound that they tend to make a lot (likely without being aware of it)?
“Blast it” when something bad happens.
31. Would your character be the kind capable of killing? Would they enjoy killing or only use it when necessary or, perhaps, refuse to kill no matter what?
Not only is Cirak capable of killing, he’s made an entire career out of it. He doesn’t get any particular joy out of it unless his target is an absolute scumbag. To him it’s just business, and he doesn’t have much qualms about it. If he was paid to betray someone he was close to then it could leave a pretty bitter taste in his mouth, and depending on how close he is he might outright refuse the contract.
33. If your character wanted to be alone, where would they go?
The beach. It reminds him of when he and Dekon lived on Ord Mantell together on a beach. He’s unable to ever go back to that specific beach, however, as it was destroyed by bombings during the conflict with the Separatists.
40. Does your OC have any guilty pleasures they enjoy? Hobbies, past times, music, etc that they wouldn’t want known by others?
Cirak has a varied taste in music, and he owns most of it, but he does not let others know that he actually enjoys “bubblegum pop” music. Once Mako connected his music player to the ship’s speakers, and he’d forgotten he’d left it on that playlist. He was more embarrassed than another time when Mako accidentally played some...other audio of his over the intercom.
41. Does your character’s family affect your character in any way?
Cirak’s love for Tyar motivates his early days of bounty hunting for sure! His entire goal is to get enough credits to obtain a stable life, steal Tyar away from the Jedi Temple, and go back to having the life he felt they should’ve had before their lives went to hell. Unfortunately he gives up on this after thinking Tyar died in the Sacking of Coruscant.
50. If your character confessed love to their crush, boyfriend, girlfriend, etc, what would they say?
“You know, you’re pretty cute. I think I love you.”
