Wiry, but strong

It’s quite possible that the icicles growing on our young Japanese maple tree weigh more than the tree itself.

I debated with myself: Would it be more harmful to the tree to try to break them off, or leave them on?

In the end, I compromised; I removed the bigger icicles, but left the others alone.

It as a delicate operation but so far all the branches remain intact.

Two new releases from the awesome Surgeonaires

Latest two releases from the uplifting, marvellous, legendary Surgeonaires. First, Brian tells how people seem to think that he is crazy, when it is quite obvious to him that everyone else around him is crazy so how could he buck the trend? Despite the trials and tribulation of life, the Surgeonaires continue to celebrate life, having fun, stating they are ‘Still Crazy’ and ask the question, “Are you?

Second, Tigger was inspired to write ‘Little People’ in the early ’70s when he was doing the daily commute and recorded it with Hustler although he didn’t sing it back then. This new version by the ever-changing, ever-challenging Surgeonaires gives him the opportunity to flex those magnificent vocal skills that were dormant for so long.

Surgeonaires Live : 13 Feb Hanwell

Surgeonaires live at the Marshall Lounge 13 Feb

The first time we played a gig in Hanwell, Signs of Life were the support act. They have become great friends of the legendary Surgeonaires so we are delighted that, for our first gig in the Marshall Lounge W7 they have agreed to support up once again. They will be on from 9 o’clock until 10 and the legendary Surgeonaires will get on as soon as we can after them to take the evening through to closing time – 11.30 or thereabouts.

The Marshall Lounge, upstairs at the Kings Arms 110 Uxbridge Road, Hanwell W7 3SU is a purpose-refurbished venue with a great sound system, a friendly audience, beautiful bar staff and a fantastic atmosphere. Both bands play mainly original material – you won’t hear anyone else playing these tunes.

The Surgeonaires play every gig like it could be their last – you should make sure you catch them while you can. It will be a fantastic evening. #trustmeimasurgeonaire.

Surgeonaires 17 Jan Northumberland Arms TW8 8BJ

The hip-thrusting, heart-stopping, eye-watering, pants-dropping, viagra-taking, house-rocking, sensational while modest, legendary Surgeonaires will be playing live on Saturday 17th January at the classy Northumberland Arms 11 London Road Brentford TW8 8BJ from 20.45 until 23.30.

Our latest recording: Surgeonaires feat. Würzel (yes, that Würzel) OUT NOW

Back in the late 80s our bass player and vocalist Tigger was mates with Würzel, the fantastic guitarist from Motorhead, who used to call around to visit between tours. And, as you would, Tigger asked him to play guitar on some demos made with a drum machine and recorded on an 8 track tape machine. Tigger didn’t have a band to do anything with the demos back then and they stayed on the shelf - until Tigger joined the Surgeonaires. Could the Surgeonaires play along with Würzel’s guitar tracks and turn the demos into decent recordings? Well we tried - and this is the result. It is fantastic. #trustmeimasurgeonaire
