Devsmin!au is so fun cause of just how involved everyone is with each other. Like Jack wants you so so so bad from the get go and Quinn just has you in a completely different way and Jack does get you right where he wants you but Quinn does still own a part of your heart....delicious because Jack has you in a way Q doesn't even want you and he's still...well, not jealous but something damn close. Something was said about the Olympics and how you WILL be coming home as a couple with Jack & I love that idea. Because the guys are so busy with the Olympics, it is really just like...this sort of vacation Jack provided for you? (He's been providing a lot for you lately...you should do something nice for him when you guys get back, you resolve) Granted you couldn't really say no and the ticket was bought before you had a chance to even respond, but you aren't gonna look at gifthorse in the mouth.Thank God you could get the time off work. And Q & J's parents are there so you get to see them too!

But the few times you do see Jack with his busy schedule he's soooo touchy. Touchier than usual. Pulling you in close and draping his body over you and running his thumb over you from where his hand sits on your back. You throw a fleeting ????? kind of look at Q after the first few times but he just shrugs and smiles (read: playing dumb). It's Jack. He's always been touchy. You won't say anything further because this is their moment. You reason that the two of you have been spending nearly every goddamn day together before Milan, so maybe he just really misses you? Just grin and bear it.

Then they win, of course. And the next time you see them you congratulate them (Jack does not give you the chance to hug Quinn first, btw). Jack is looking at you with such a fond look you're like wow, I've never seen him like that. Wait why is he holding my face in his hands. What. And then he's kissing you with such a passion that you freeze. And no one else seems surprised??? But what can you say? They just won Olympic Gold. You can't ruin this for them but -- but what the fuck, did he just introduce you to his teammates as his girlfriend? Your ability to think coherently goes down the drain, because if you could you'd be freaking tf out. When you get home, you'll mention it when you get home...yeah... (that man is jumping your bones the second the two of you get home, sorryyyyy)

And... "Unfortunately, Jack loves seeing you like this </3 especially now that Quinn's handed over the reigns. He loves how you cling to him and how you try to dry your tears and how you apologize for getting his shirt wet and how sniffly you get and how glassy your eyes are and how easy you are to maneuver and he can't believe Quinn used to keep this to himself" like an arrow to the heart. + There's nothing romantic between you and Quinn and he's happy about you and Jack but at the same time, you were his first, you know? So yeah, he takes some perverse pleasure in how your instinct is to look to him first and how that instinct remains long after you and Jack get together

+ Somehow, Jack is able to convince the Devs organization to give you those 2 weeks without it going against your PTO. So you essentially have a paid vacation AND Jack takes care of all of your other expenses. You have no reason to say no—not that you were given a choice to—so you decide to enjoy it for what it is

+ (read: playing dumb) LKDADSFA instead of resting bitch face, Quinn has resting zoned out face so you can't even call him out because for all you know, he really isn't seeing what Jack's doing. And it's not that Jack is doing anything you can quantify other than the uncomfortable feeling that settles in your gut every time his touch strays into what you consider 'too much'. You give them both grace because this is a huge moment for them and so much is riding on their shoulders in particular. And for as long as you've known Jack, he's been physically affectionate. He's probably needs the comfort so you lean into it without crossing any boundaries (so you think...)

+ 'Jack does not give you a chance to hug Quinn first btw' is killing me because you already know you have a huge smile on your face when you see them. Realistically you see Quinn before Jack (everyone wants a piece of Jack naturally) so it takes you by surprise when Jack is the one to pull you into a hug. He's practically glowing when he pulls back to get a good look at you, cupping your face between his hands which...okay maybe he's just excited? But then there's the taste of beer and blood in your mouth and the touch of his tongue on yours. He's speaking when he breaks the kiss, some excited babble you don't hear because your ears are ringing. He puts his gold around your neck and kisses you again before dragging you into the celebration

+ It feels sacrilegious to go against Jack in this moment so you bear it. You get a lot of comments about your golden boy and how proud you must be. And the thing is, you are proud. So proud of him and Quinn that you still feel it running through your veins, warring with the alcohol you're chugging to bear this. Emotions are running high. That must be why Jack kissed you. And it's easier to say you're his girlfriend than to say his emotions got the best of him right? And Quinn's not refuting it either because why make the night awkward? It's a slip of the tongue (in more ways than one) but it'll be fine once you guys get back home

+ Jack lovesss how you get when you're overwhelmed and teary eyed and hiccupy. He's so glad this is all his now. You're willing to go along with whatever he says and let him tuck you against him and murmur soothing words against your skin and whatever else he wants. It's his world when you get like this!
