A cheap and gluten-free take on a traditional comfort food dish. This gluten-free tuna pasta bake is rich, creamy, and full of flavor, making it a great choice for dinner with the family.
Ingredients: 8 oz gluten-free pasta. 1 can 6 oz tuna, drained. 1 cup gluten-free breadcrumbs. 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese. 1 cup milk or dairy-free alternative. 2 tablespoons gluten-free flour. 2 tablespoons butter or dairy-free margarine. 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder. 1/2 teaspoon onion powder. Salt and pepper to taste. Fresh parsley for garnish.
Instructions: Warm your oven up to 350F 175C and grease a baking dish. Follow the directions on the package to cook the gluten-free pasta. Remove the water and set it aside. Melt the butter or dairy-free margarine in a saucepan over medium heat. To make a roux, add the gluten-free flour and whisk it in continuously for two to three minutes. While whisking, slowly add the milk or a dairy-free alternative. As you cook, the mixture will get thicker and smoother. Add the onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper and mix well. Place the cooked pasta, drained tuna, and cheese in a large bowl. Add the sauce to the other ingredients and mix them together well. Spread gluten-free breadcrumbs out evenly on top of the mixture in the baking dish that has been prepared. After the oven is hot, bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the pasta is hot all the way through. Add fresh parsley on top and serve hot.
