This Hong Kong Sticky Chicken recipe combines savory and sweet flavors with a sticky glaze that's perfect for coating tender chicken thighs. It's easy to prepare and yields juicy, flavorful chicken with a deliciously sticky exterior.
Ingredients: 4 chicken thighs, bone-in and skin-on. 3 tablespoons soy sauce. 2 tablespoons honey. 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce. 1 tablespoon rice vinegar. 2 cloves garlic, minced. 1 teaspoon ginger, grated. 1 tablespoon vegetable oil. 1 tablespoon sesame seeds, for garnish. 2 green onions, sliced, for garnish.
Instructions: In a bowl, mix soy sauce, honey, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, garlic, and ginger. Place chicken thighs in a resealable plastic bag, pour marinade over chicken, seal, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or overnight. Preheat oven to 375F 190C. Heat vegetable oil in an oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Remove chicken from marinade, reserving marinade. Place chicken skin-side down in the skillet and cook until golden brown, about 5 minutes. Flip chicken and pour reserved marinade over the top. Transfer skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until chicken is cooked through and sauce is sticky, basting with sauce halfway through cooking. Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions before serving.
