time for guild wars!

Hi I’m Connor! I’ve been playing Guild Wars 2 since the 2020 pandemic with my husband and my sibling. I love talking about cool world lore, headcanons and going feral over my OCs. I’m currently in the process of teaching myself to draw, mostly so I can draw asura making out. Character/Timeline list:

Alpha timeline:

My oldest, longest running Commander storyline. Bertram “Bertie” Coppercogg (Scrapper, my character), a golemancer trying to move beyond the notorious legacy of his older brother, meets Syrryl Silverset, (Deadeye, my husband’s character), an Arcane Eye assassin with a device in his head that lets him view sheer probability. Over the course of the Dragon Cycle, raising Aurene together and accidentally getting their souls bonded in Omadd’s machine, the Commander and his Shadow end up in a decade’s long slow burn romance, finally realizing their mutual feelings in Icebrood Saga. Now post End of Dragons, Syrryl is (mostly) retired while Bertie is attempting to move beyond the title of Commander. This is made all the more difficult when Bertie is taken to the Wizard’s Tower, somewhat against his will, for over a year as well as the recent introduction of Cosmomancer Gwynn (Evoker, my husband’s character), a civil servant of the Arcane Council who has taken an interest in both Syrryl and Bertie. Currently going through Janthir Wilds and excitedly looking forward to Visions of Eternity.

Beta timeline:

Follows Wynoc Burntrazor (Renegade, my character), an unknowing Mordrem discovered by an Ash Legion warband in Iron Marches and raised as one of their own. Initially torn between his charr and sylvari heritages, Wynoc is pushed to fulfill the role of Pact Commander. However he soon hands the “honor” over to his eventual best friend, a middle aged, former Vigil solider named Warmaster Orrin (Guardian, my husband’s character). Orrin, known for his decades of experience on the battlefield as well as his questionable relationship with one Rytlock Brimstone, is more than happy to accept and Wynoc is much happier as his right hand man. Currently in Living World Season 3, though we have stuff scripted up to the end of Icebrood Saga.

Gamma timeline:

Story play through of me and my sibling’s characters. College drop out Bjazz (Holosmith, my sibling’s character) becomes the commander and explores Tyria with her older brother Archaeologist Biarr (Virtuoso/Chronomancer, my character), a leading member of the Durmand Priory and possible member of the Wizard’s Tower. They occasionally have run ins with Newtt Finknottle (Specter, my husband’s character), a bookkeeper for the Inquest. Currently in Path of Fire.

Delta timeline:

Originally started as a role swap AU for Alpha timeline and got out of hand. Fractalist Syrryl (Mesmer, my husband’s character) becomes the commander while Bastion Zhivv (Warrior, my character, Bertie under a different, more asura name) struggles to extricate himself from High Councilor Haia’s control. Currently around base game level 30.

Miscellaneous characters:

Wardd- a socially anxious Elementalist that ends up joining the Vigil during a gap year from the College of a Synergetics.

Alienist Chipp- a Willbender and former Pact member that left the organization due an injury sustained during the Mordremoth campaign. Currently living in Rata Sum working as a genius tracker, a bounty hunter that specializes in finding rogue geniuses.

Einarr Otterkin- a Norn ranger that I made to trying out ranger elite specs. Doesn’t have any story stuff yet but hopefully will be fleshed out at some point.

I had a question about the au, what's the reason behind donut not telling the Reds and blues? Like when he first gets there I get he wouldn't trust them but by chorus he's probably bonded with everyone and trusts them (to an extent?), Basically; TLDR: why didn't donut tell them and what would the catalyst be for him to tell them?

alright, so when he first got to blood gulch, he was supposed to be "undercover". (spoiler alert: it was a lie) SO he thought he was only pretending to be a sim trooper.. until tex and doc (agent alaska) make their debuts. after he leaves pfl with doc later on, they both kinda just decided to erase their pasts and continue their lives as *actual* sim troopers. so jersey became donut for real! honestly, there was also no reason to tell the reds and blues because at that point, it didnt matter. though... when wash and carolina show up, it gets a little more complicated. donuts relationship with carolina was always super rocky (they were forced to hate eachother basically), so he thought she would be better off not knowing.

on another note, each universe has its own reasons for why he never said anything. for example, in the alpha timeline, he had his memories completely wiped by the director and given fake ones. what i just explained above is more directed towards the beta timeline.

PROJECT FREELANCER DONUT AU MASTERLIST

The Alpha Timeline - After wiping the memories of his only son, The Director sends Agent New Jersey to Blood Gulch, turning him into a Sim Trooper. During his time with the others, he never fully regains his memories until one day he gets shot by his past fling.

The Beta Timeline - Thinking his father was sending him on a real mission for once, Agent New Jersey discovers the truth as he runs into another Agent while "undercover" in Blood Gulch. Together, Jersey and Alaska* abandon the program and live their lives as Sim Troopers, not expecting more people from their pasts to show up - or worse, turn up dead.

The Gamma Timeline - Living on an oversized spaceship was never fun - especially when several dozen soldiers were basically recreating Mean Girls out of boredom. Follow Agent New Jersey and his friends** as they bully and tease weaker soldiers for no reason! This behavior is further fueled by their AI - or lack of one (*cough cough* south *cough cough*).

The Delta Timeline - Abandoning Project Freelancer seemed like the best thing to do originally, but after being forced to watch as the Sim Troopers he called friends mowed down his actual friends, Agent New Jersey grew angry. His AI, Pi***, seemed to only worsen this resentment that began to grow and eventually - he snapped.

The Epsilon Timeline - After boarding the sister ship of The Hand of Merope with Agent Washington, the two, along with its crew, start the return trip to Blood Gulch. Along the way, the ship experiences engine problems before suddenly crashing on the ice planet, Sidewinder. Here, Washington and Jersey must learn to work together in order to survive, forcibly putting their pasts behind them.

*Agent Alaska, real name "Frank Dufresne", is a trained medical officer part of Project Freelancer.

***Pi, Agent New Jersey's assigned AI, is built off the fragment "jealousy" and to keep with the theme of Jersey's skills as a grenadier and his anger issues, his armor has two abilities: combustion and camouflage.
