Some canva stickers for del @myaimistrue's creator celebration (angels, demons, hunters, monsters)! this is a lil late but i hope u had a lovely celebration<3
for day two of @myaimistrue ‘s celebration: demons
Despite how great things are here, at Sonny’s, Dean can’t shake the feeling that something is going to go wrong. Sure, his dad wanted him to rot in jail, which meant that he never wanted to see Dean again, but Dean knows John Winchester, and he doesn’t quit. After all, he’s spent the past twelve years dragging Dean and Sam across the country in search of a monster he’ll never find.
Dean knows the real reason that his dad wanted to leave him here: it was so he didn’t have to own up. Instead of admitting that he’d left his sixteen and twelve-year-old in a moldy motel room for three weeks without any food money, driving Dean to stealing the peanut butter and bread so that Sam would stop trying to hide his crying from hunger, he pinned it on Dean. Dean was the failure, not John.
Dean knows that fundamentally, his dad had done the wrong thing, but it doesn’t stop shame from swirling in his belly when he tries to sleep at night, doesn’t stop him from being hesitant with friendships or carving sigils onto his bed or salting the perimeter.
(Doesn’t stop him from wondering when he won’t have a bed of his own anymore.)
And Dean’s right: John does come back, right when Dean’s actually starting to be happy, just like he always does. He always picks them up and dumps them somewhere new right when things are finally starting to get good, always telling them not to be sad (real men don’t cry, boys).
Dean doesn’t want to get back into that car, but he has to, because after a couple months at Sonny’s, he’s finally accepted the truth: in hunting his demons, his dad’s become one.
The next place he and Sam get left, Dean doesn’t even bother going to the high school.
april 10th: angels 😇 in the style of Netflix’s Lucifer for myaimistrue’s content creator celebration
