It's rather easy to convince creatures like Shinigami Kanade or Hermit!Kanade to allow you to stick around, or to get them to suggest you stick around. Due to their solitary lifestyles, they're actually quite lonely most of the time, and would admittedly like the company of someone else more than they'll admit.

They more than likely would not turn you away if you told them you needed somewhere to stop for a while.

I think most animals actually quite like kami Kanade. They'll hang around her if nothing else startling is going on and as long as she keeps that uh. Truer weird side tucked away.

On the other hand, theres a comical amount of animals that, despite not minding Hermit kanade being nearby and even enjoying her music, explicitly do not like interacting with her directly in any way.

Essentially the Hermit au of Kanade. One of her kind that was born as she was rather than being changed to one, on her father's side. Her mother was human, though she was of poor health and died when Kanade was young. Already estranged from normal humans, Kanade and her father were put under more duress after her mother's passing when other humans began twisting the truth and claiming she hadn't died from illness, but was killed. Due to this, Kanade can't risk being seen as she is, undisguised, by humans without risking being called out and captured for punishment.

Currently, she lives alone in the cabin that once belonged to her dad. He had gone out to grab supplies and food, but never did return. Enough time has passed that Kanade quietly knows he's either been killed or captured, but either way, she's given up hopes she'll see her last remaining family again.

Her defining features as what she is include her twisting horns and a long, furred tail, similar length to a dragon, but the fur is reminiscent of some other beast. She's still small in stature though, and largely keeps herself away from conflict, actively refusing to fight and incredibly hard to push into one.

She casts magic through melody and song, either channeling it in her voice or channeling it through sound generated from her instruments.

She watches over multiple instruments kept in her cabin, left behind by her father. Her favored thing to use is a small kalimba she carries on her frequently, but she's also capable of playing lutes and lyres. She actually creates her own songs to pass time and also because she personally enjoys it, adopting the hobby from her father. When she feels up to it, she'll sneak into town disguised as a regular human to play music to entertain others.

She's got very little actual concern over whether she gets caught and killed or not, though she does at least put out the effort to avoid not getting into that situation. She only wants others to understand and enjoy the music that her and her father had put their hearts into making, and that despite what she is she has no ill intent others assume she does by appearance. Yet, she will also admit, she doesn't believe anyone will hear her or believe her.

certain verses of Kanade would absolutely throw hands with a threat to a companion lets be honest. now whether or not she's good at it, that doesn't matter. she would do it anyway.
