Summary: Y/n, the only demigod daughter of the goddess Nyx, was known for her rebellious nature. She had a habit of cursing frequently, a trait that annoyed Percy Jackson, the demigod son of Poseidon. Both of them have a playful, teasing relationship where they switch between being friends and like a lover as they complete their quests. But during the quest they undertook together to find and return the bolt of lightning, Y/n found herself unable to control her mouth. Percy, fed up, made a bold promise that if she cursed again, he would kiss her. Y/n was taken back by his ultimatum but found herself trying to control her tongue. As the day went on, Y/n tried her best to hold back from cursing, feeling the weight of Percy’s promise hanging over her head.
Stupid rule. Stupid profanity. Stupid Percy
You thought to yourself as you sat there beside Annabeth in the backseat after what had just happened at the motel they stayed in for a bit. You and Percy have known each other since childhood. Your father and his mother, Sally, knew each other well; that’s how you and Percy know each other.
So when the two of you find out that both of you are a demigod. It was a shocker to both of you at first, mostly the fact that his father is one of the big three, Poseidon and you being the only demigod child of Nyx.
A lot has happened in the past few days. Such as Sally being gone. The camp of half blood. The fight between Percy and Annabeth. At the bonfire, to find out that Sally is alive and a hostage in the Underworld. Hades demanded the bolt exchange for Percy’s mother.
Breaking Chiron’s rule and going on a quest with Percy, Grover, and Annabeth. The first quest for the green pearl was thought to be easy but ended up not since they happened to be in Medusa’s lair. But in the end, Percy was able to cut her head off and brought it with them.
Back at the motel, nothing much happened except that rule Percy set since you’re known to be someone who curses a lot and anytime you got a chance.
“Fucking hell” you groan, rubbing the back of your neck as you follow Percy when he climbed off the pool.
“Will you stop it?” Percy asked and chuckled as he washed his hands on a public sink at the side of the motel near the pool.
“I’ll do what I want. So if I want to curse. I’ll fucking do it” You told him, rolling your eyes before walking pass him.
“Can you stop cursing?” He grabbed your wrist and turned you toward him before letting go.
“I want to curse, so I will curse. And you can’t do anything about it.” You said before tilting your head aside and starting to curse while he watched you amused. He stared at you as you cursed out loud, your eyes darting everywhere as you thought of curse words.
“Motherfuker. Bitch. Fuck. Peice of shit. Damni-” Percy grabbed your cheek and pushed you onto a wall, cutting you off as you stared at him in shock.
“Your mouth’s indeed dirty,” He said, staring down at you, his hand still on your cheeks. “It really needs some cleaning.”
You stand and stare at him in shock before you push his hand off, your back pressed against the wall. “Huh?”
“Your mouth is dirty too. As if you haven’t cursed,” You said the moment you gathered yourself, rolling your eyes at him.
“Then you can clean it. We can clean it together,” He said in a low tone, making you speechless, staring up at him as you bit your bottom lip. Percy is doing the same.
“Asshole” You pushed him away, glaring slightly at him when you realize the dept of his words.
“If you use profanity one more time.” He stepped closer to you, grasping your chin and tilting your head up, “I will kiss you.”
“Do you understand?” Percy asked you smirking.
“Huh?” You breathe out, still processing what he said before he leans closer to you.
“Do. You. Understand?” He repeated, emphasizing his words to be clear as you stood there frozen for a moment before slowly nodding your head. He stayed like that for a moment before he let go of your cheek and stepping back.
You bet out a breath you’ve been holding as you looked down, mumbling to yourself, “What the fuck”
Percy closed his eyes and shook his head with a grin before looking at you, who didn’t seem to have noticed what you just said.
“What?” You asked him when you saw him looking at you with a grin.
“Hey, what are you look-” Your eyes widen when Percy leaned down and kissed you. The kiss lasted for a few seconds before he pulled away and then smirked at you.
“Profanity,” he mumbled before stepping back and chuckling at your frozen state as he started to walk away while you just realized that you cursed minutes ago.
“Shittt,” You whispered before hurriedly covering your mouth and glance over Percy’s retreating figure, leaning your head back against the wall.
Over the past few days, you tried. Keyword tried. You tried your best not to swear too much as the four of you completed the quest. Such as when you encounter a Hydra. When you were in that casino in Vegas. Mostly when you found out days have passed when you were trapped there at the casino. And when all of you go to the Underworld to tell Hades that Pecy doesn't have the bolt, just to find it behind the shield Luke gave him.
Persephone gave them another pearl, but they still had to leave Grover behind since they only have four pearl, leaving a promise that they'll comeback for him. They stepped on it before a smoke ingulf their body and transport them to the Empire State building.
It is adorned with red, white, and blue lights. Dark, ominous storm clouds are above the sky as thunder strike. Few pedestrians on the streets struggle to walk against the strong wind.
"Zeus and Poseidon preparing for battle" Annabeth told them, looking up the sky.
"Oh, no, no. This isn't the right place. This isn't the Olympus. This is…this is the Empire State building" Percy said in a panic tone, looking around the place.
"Percy! The entrance to Olympus is there," Sally called out before grabbing her son's arm and pull him toward where the entrance should be as you and Annabeth follow.
"There's 10 minutes till midnight," you said in a hurry just as they heard a familiar voice call out Percy's name.
They all stop, turning around and looking up to the direction of the voice.
"You got to be fucking kidding me" you mumbled to yourself, staring at Luke with resentment.
He hovers several feet above them, wearing his own winged shoes as he land in front of them, "Well, you weren't supposed to make it out alive. I can't let you take the bolt to Olympus"
"You're not in place to decide that" you told him, stepping beside Percy.
"You hid the bolt in my shield. Why?" Percy asked him, holding his hand out to stop you from getting closer and keeping you behind him.
"Well, when you said you were going to the Underworld, it hit me" Luke said in a plain voice like it's the most simple thing in the world, "That is the perfect opportunity to get the bolt to Hades"
"Why would you do that?" He asked as the question that's been bothering him would finally get some answered.
"To bring Olympus crumbling down" Luke told them as Sally called out for Percy.
"You're crazy" you said, looking at him with narrowed eyes.
"Well, it's too late, 'cause I'm returning the bolt to Zeus right now" Percy turned back to Luke.
"Not before midnight" Luke said before flying toward Percy who pushed you behind him as he dodge Luke but the son of Hermes spin around and kicked Percy's face.
"Percy!" you called out, wanting to rush over him but Annabeth hold you back as Luke flew toward Percy with sword in hand. Percy was able to deflect his attack using Zeus bold that blinded Luke for a bit before he kicked Percy onto the ground.
The bolt falling off his hand and roll away. You rushed to the bolt just as Luke flew toward you.
"Duck!" Annabeth yelled out to you which you did, dodging Luke's attack. The bolt grew lighter when you held it as Annabeth rush beside you and started attacking Luke who was able to dodge each of her attacks just as you rushed over and help her.
You and Annabeth attacked Luke with all your might, not caring for self-preservation and only focusing on the battle.
Luke was a skilled swordsman, and you both knew it. He dodged Annabeth's attacks with ease, almost as if he was toying with them. But you both kept pushing forward, driven by determination and adrenaline.
"Annabeth, we can't let him get away with that bolt." You said as you dodged one of Luke's attacks.
You and Annabeth worked together flawlessly, covering each other's weaknesses while attacking Luke. With the two of you working in synchrony, Luke was barely able to keep up with your combined assault.
"Cover me!" you yelled, seeing a potential opening. Annabeth nodded and managed to distract Luke long enough for you to move closer, the bolt feeling lighter in your hand.
As you moved closer with the bolt, Luke suddenly noticed your intention and managed to intercept your path. "Not so fast"
You were caught off guard as Luke noticed your approach and made a sweeping attack that forced you to dodge. Annabeth was now busy defending herself, unable to provide any assistance.
Luke charged at you, his sword coming down with a powerful swing. You barely managed to dodge in time, rolling to the side. The force of his attack left you unsteady for a moment, but you quickly regained your footing.
Luke sneered at you, continuing his attack. "You? A daughter of Nyx? Pathetic."
He continued his relentless assaults, almost driving you back with each swing of his sword. "How could the daughter of night be so weak!?"
His words caught you off guard, but you didn't let it sway you. "And you're a traitor. What does it matter who my parent is?"
Luke's expression hardened, his attacks growing more aggressive as he pushed you back.
"It matters because you're a child of Nyx. You should be on my side"
His words stung, but you stood your ground. "And why should I be on your side? Betraying the gods is not something I would ever do."
Luke attacked again, a fierce determination in his eyes. "You don't understand. The gods don't care about us, the half-bloods. They see us as expendable, just tools to be used in their game of power."
You dodged his attack, your expression serious but resolute. "That may be true, but betraying them is not the fucking answer."
Luke's expression darkened, his movements becoming more ferocious as he pressed you back forcefully. "Then you're a fool! You'd rather blindly follow them than see the truth."
You were caught off guard by his powerful swing, forced to dodge and lose your balance. Just as you were about to regain your footing, he kicked you hard in the chest and face, causing you to cry out in pain and fall to the ground.
Your nose started to bleed from the impact, disorienting you for a moment as you felt like air got knocked out of your lungs. As you tried to focus through the pain, you realized the bolt of lightning had slipped from your grip, now in Luke's hand.
Annabeth watched in horror, seeing you on the ground and the bolt in Luke's possession.
Annabeth rushed towards him, trying to intervene. "Leave her alone!" she yelled, trying to take the bolt away from him.
Luke managed to dodge Annabeth's attacks, his sword flashing, her sword clashing against Luke's, both moving with practiced ease, but Luke used the bolt before flying above them as Percy rushed over you.
Percy rushed over, dropping to your side with concern in his eyes. "You alright?" he asked, helping you sit up carefully.
You winced and cough, still recovering from Luke's attack. "I'll...be fine. Can't let Luke get away with the bolt though"
Percy helped you up, his gaze shifting towards the sky where Luke was now flying away with the bolt, "Luke! Why do you want a war of the gods?"
Luke hovered in the air, a sneer on his face. "Control. They've been in power for too long. I say it's time for our generation to take over." his expression filled with anger and determination, "Remold the world in our image. A world of new heroes"
"You're no hero" Percy told him, keeping you behind him and pushing you back when Luke pointed the bolt and start using it, destroying everything behind and around as Percy covers you.
"Mom, are you alright?" Percy asked his mom, rushing beside her as she assured him. He looked over you and saw the state your in but you just smiled at him and nodded as you cough.
You all watch as Luke flew away with the bolt in his hand. "Stay here," Percy said before rushing over his bag and pulling out the winged shoes.
"What are you doing?" you asked and rushed over him.
"Stay" Was all he said as he wore the shoes and flew off, following Luke.
"Percy!" you called out in worry as Sally held you back with Annabeth behind her.
"Don't. This fight is between Luke and Percy, dear." Sally told you, rubbing your arms as you both watch helplessly
You watched Percy fly away, feeling a knot in your stomach. But Sally's words echoed in your head, keeping you from rushing after him. You knew he needed to face Luke alone.
Annabeth stood next to you, looking just as worried. The three of you waited with bated breath, hoping for Percy to return safely. "He'll be alright, right?" you couldn't help but ask, the uncertainty weighing heavily on your mind.
Annabeth nodded, trying to reassure you despite the tension in the air. "Yeah, Percy can handle himself. He'll be fine."
As you waited, Annabeth helped you with your nosebleed, her touch gentle and comforting. She up the blood and tended to your injury, her focus on making sure you were okay.
Minutes passed, each one feeling like an eternity. You fidgeted with your fingers, watching the sky for any sign of Percy. Every sound made you jump, hoping it was him returning. But there was nothing.
Annabeth finished tending to your nose and sat next to you, her expression thoughtful. "He's taking too long." she said, concern lacing her words.
Just then, you let out a sigh of relief when you saw Percy with the bolt in his hand soar and land safely on the ground, rushing over him and wrapping your arms around him.
You felt immense relief, glad that he was unharmed. But you still couldn't help but scold him for worrying you. "You fucking idiot, I was so worried about you!"
Percy chuckled, feeling your worry. "I'm fine, I'm fine. Don't worry about me."
"He's got the bolt! Come on! Let's move! We've got two minutes!" Annabeth told Sally as his mother rushed them but was still glad to see him safe.
She led them inside and started messing with the switch before the shelf opened in half, exposing a gold door. The door slides open, revealing black, white, and gold, and a symbol in the middle.
Sally, Percy, and you rushed inside the elevator, but Annabeth stayed behind, making you confuse. "Beth, come on."
"No, you guys go. I'll stay here on guard," Annabeth told you.
You looked at Annabeth, confused. "What? But…are you sure?"
Annabeth gave you a firm nod, her gaze unwavering. "Yes, I'm sure. You guys need to get that bolt back to Zeus. I'll keep watch here."
You exchanged a look with Percy, realizing that there was no changing her mind.
"Alright…just be careful, okay?" you said, feeling a mix of worry and admiration for her bravery.
Annabeth nodded, a small but confident smile on her face. "I will. Don't worry about me. Focus on the mission."
The elevator doors closed, leaving you, Percy, and Sally inside as the elevator jerked and ascended into the Olympus' bowels. The silence was heavy, filling the air with tension before the elevator stopped shaking and the door opened.
"Holy shit" you mumbled to yourself, stepping out of the elevator, staring at the scenery in front of you, up where the biggest building stood proudly.
"Percy, I can't get through. You've got to go!" Sally told them, lifting her hand and pushing something that was not there, like a barrier stopping her.
Percy grabbed your hand and started running with you as time ran out, pushing the exhausted as they ran up the stairs. You are staring at the big building, making you feel like an ant.
"Time has run out," they heard inside. Picking up their pace, they ran inside the room where all the gods were.
"Damn" You muttered as you looked over them and how big they are. Your eyes catch someone who's not associated and shouldn't be in Mount Olympus.
"I'm Percy Jackson, and I think you might be looking for this." Percy introduced himself while holding the bolt above him as Zeus walked around and toward them while you and Percy rushed forward.
"Give me the bolt, lightning thief," Zeus told him, holding his hand out as Percy threw the bolt as it grew bigger in Zeus' hand. Thunderbolts could be heard outside as the bolt grew brighter in Zeus' hand.
"You're wise to betray your father," Zeus said to Percy.
"I didn't steal it. And I have no connection to Poseidon," Percy stated, staring at the nearly thirty-feet-tall god.
"But tell me, if you didn't steal it, then who did?" Zeus wonders, wanting answers from him.
"Luke, son of Hermes," you spoke up as they turned to you and then to Hermes.
"He was angry at you. Pissed. To all of you. He wanted you to destroy yourselves." You continue; your words sink into them as you stare at someone.
"You have done well." Zeus looked at Percy before you then turning around and going back to his throne, "Let there be peace."
"Hi, Mom," you said softly, staring up at Nyx.
"Y/n, my precious girl. You're all grown up." Nyx told you with a smile and stare at you longing.
"Zeus, there's a friend of ours. He's a Satyr named Grover. He's our protector, and the only reason why we escaped the Underworld is because he stayed behind," Percy told Zeus, hoping the god would help him and Grover.
"And now you expect me to bring him back." Zeus guessed, looking at Percy before nodding a bit, "Very well. I believe this assembly's business here is finished."
Just then, every god and goddess stood up from their throne while Poseidon approached Zeus and talked to him about something. You had a feeling that Poseidon wanted to talk to Percy, so you turned to him.
"I'll meet you outside." You told him before walking out of the place and sitting down on one of the steps on the stairs. You heard a footstep behind you, turning around to see your mother.
"You have grown so much, my child," Nyx said softly, her voice like the rustling of leaves in the night. "I am proud of you."
Nyx sat down gracefully beside you, her presence commanding yet comforting. The two of you sat in silence for a few moments, simply enjoying each other's company.
Finally, Nyx spoke up, her voice soft and sweet. "You've grown into quite a remarkable young demigod, Y/n."
You smiled, feeling a sense of pride in your chest. "Thanks, Mom. I've learned a lot on the journey to return the bolt."
Nyx placed a gentle hand on your shoulder. "I've watched you from the shadows, your journey into adulthood has been filled with both triumph and trial."
You nodded, appreciating her words of wisdom. "It's been…eye-opening, to say the least."
Nyx chuckled softly, the corners of her mouth curling up in a small smile. "Your journey is just beginning, my dear. But I have no doubt that you'll face each challenge with courage and resilience."
"If you've been watching over me using the shadows, the night, and whatever else you can control. Why didn't you show yourself?" You asked her, wanting answers to the questions you've been wondering since you find out the truth.
Nyx sighed softly, her expression growing serious. "My dear Y/n, the answer to your question is not as simple as you might think."
She paused for a moment, choosing her words carefully. "I am the goddess of night. My domain is the shadows, the darkness, the hidden realms. It is my nature to lurk in the background, to observe without intervention."
She gently touched your arm, her gaze filled with a hint of melancholy. "I am not like the other gods who enjoy meddling in the affairs of mortals. My role is to witness, to provide a haven for those who embrace the night. To reveal myself would disrupt the balance of things."
"Yet, you are like them. You went to earth and met my father; your affair grew, and I'm the root of it." You scoffed a bit, looking at the night sky.
Nyx took a moment, her expression growing solemn. "Yes, my child, I have made mistakes. I allowed my love for your father to cloud my judgment, leading to unforeseen consequences."
She paused, her gaze fixed on the night sky as well. "I was selfish, careless. But I never, ever, regretted having you."
"You left like a shadow after you gave birth to me. Leaving me with Dad to raise me alone. He had to marry a woman who is an alcoholic just to mark my scent from monsters." You told her, looking down to your hands and then back up to the night sky.
Nyx's gaze softened, a hint of guilt flickering in her eyes. "I understand the pain you've endured, the burden that you've carried on your shoulders alone. I cannot undo the past, but I assure you that I have watched over you from afar, silently, trying to help in whatever way I could."
"It already happened. And he's gone. So, there's nothing to talk about it." You mumbled, shrugging your shoulder to hide the pain you felt.
Nyx saw through your attempts to hide your pain, her expression softening even more. She reached out and placed a gentle hand on your shoulder, the very touch filled with love and understanding.
"Y/n…there is no need to conceal your pain from me. I see it, I feel it in my very being. You have been strong for far too long, my child."
You felt a wave of emotions wash over you, the burden of years of pain and loneliness weighing heavily on your shoulders. You had always been strong, always pushing through in spite of everything. But now, with Nyx's words, you felt the walls you had built around yourself start to crumble.
You turned to look at Nyx, her expression filled with love and empathy. "I...I just...I needed you. I needed you, Mom. And you werent there." your voice cracked with emotion as long suppressed tears threatened to fall.
Nyx's expression changed further, a look of remorse etched onto her face. "I know," she said softly, her voice filled with guilt and sadness. "I should have been there for you, my child. I should have been there to guide you, to comfort you, to watch you grow. But I wasn't, and for that, I am truly sorry."
You wiped away a tear that had escaped, the pain of her absence still fresh in your heart. "It's…It's not just about being there, Mom. It's about the emptiness your absence left. I grew up thinking I was alone, always feeling like a piece of me was missing. Just to find out I'm a demigod, and I'm the only demigod of a primordial goddess."
Nyx knew her absence had wounded you deeply, leaving a void that no one could fill. Her heart ached at the thought of her child feeling so alone and lost without her. "I know my absence has caused you so much pain, and nothing can excuse that. I was lost in my own grief, leaving you to navigate this world on your own."
"But I'm not alone," You said, straightening your back as you heard footsteps, turning around to see Percy walking out after the talk with his father, glancing back at Nyx.
"I have Percy," You told her, looking back at Percy's approaching figure then back to Nyx. "And a mother figure, Sally. Now, Annabeth and Grover."
A soft smile appeared on Nyx's face as she observed your words and watched Percy approach. "It seems you have found love and family in unexpected places," she said with a hint of admiration.
She looked at Percy, her gaze lingering on him as he walked over. "And Percy…" she murmured, her eyes holding a mix of emotions.
You caught the look in Nyx's eyes, noticing the subtle shift in her expression. "What about him?" you asked curiously.
Nyx chuckled softly, noting the way you looked at Percy. "He's...different," she said with a knowing smile. "Percy has a certain spark about him."
Nyx let out a soft sigh, her gaze flickering between you and Percy. "He is a unique one. A child of one of the great three, but with a mortal heart."
She turned her attention back to you, her voice low. "He bears a heavy burden, just like you. Perhaps that's why you two seem to be drawn to each other."
You nodded, understanding Nyx's words. "Yeah, I know he's different. He's kind, strong, and brave…but he also has his flaws."
You stole sidelong glances at Percy as he neared, feeling a slight flutter in your chest.
Nyx noticed your glances at Percy, her expression soften as she smiled knowingly. "Love is a complex thing, my child. It can bring both joy and pain."
She leaned closer, her voice soft as a whisper. "But I see the way you look at him…and how he looks at you. There's a connection between you two, something deeper than you may realize."
Your cheeks flushed at her words, knowing she could see right through you. "I-I don't know what you're talking about," you muttered, avoiding her gaze.
Nyx chuckled, amused by your attempt to deny it. "Oh yes, you do. You can't hide it from me, dear. I am the goddess of night. I see all."
You sighed, realizing there was no point in trying to conceal your feelings. "Fine, yes, I do…care for him."
Nyx smiled, reaching out to gently touch your cheek. "It's okay to care for him, Y/n. But remember, love can be a double-edged sword. It can strengthen you, but it can also make you vulnerable."
You looked into Nyx's eyes, knowing she spoke from experience. "I know, Mom. But…I can't help how I feel about him."
Nyx nodded, her expression understanding. "I know, dear one. Love isn't something you can control. It just happens, whether you want it to or not. But make sure to protect your heart. Percy has his own journey to face, just as you do. Remember that."
You sighed deeply and stood up, wipping your pants as Percy neared you, looking up at him, "The talk with your dad went well?"
Percy nodded, his expression softening as he stood beside you. "Yeah, I've got some answers. But it's still a lot to process, you know?"
You glance at Nyx, who also stood up, then back to Percy, "Yeah, I know."
Percy followed your gaze, realizing that Nyx was present. He smiled politely and nodded in respect. "Nyx, goddess of the night."
Nyx returned the nod, her gaze briefly flickering between Percy and you before looking back at Percy. "Percy." Her voice held a mix of curiosity and protectiveness.
There was a moment of tension in the air, as if Nyx was contemplating something. After a few seconds, she spoke up, her voice firm but gentle. "May I have a word with you, Perseus?"
Percy was surprised by Nyx's request and looked to you for guidance. You could sense Percy's unease, but you gave him a reassuring nod, signaling that it was okay. Percy took a deep breath and responded to Nyx, his voice still slightly nervous, "Sure, what is it?'
Nyx glace at you, it took you a second to understand as you walked up the steps to one of the statue to give Percy and your mother a privacy.
As you walked away, Nyx and Percy stood facing each other in a moment of tensed silence. The goddess studied Percy closely, her gaze intense and penetrating. Percy shifted uncomfortably under her stare, unsure of what Nyx wanted to discuss.
Finally, Nyx broke the silence. "You care for my daughter."
It wasn't a question, more of a statement. Percy nodded, slightly taken aback by her bluntness. "Yes, I do."
Nyx studied him for a moment longer, her expression difficult to read. "And you would do anything to protect her."
Percy nodded again, without hesitation. "Yes, I would. Y/n is…important to me."
Nyx's expression softened slightly at his words, her gaze slightly less intense. "I can see it in your eyes, the sincerity in your words. But let me warn you, Percy Jackson...loving my daughter will not be an easy journey. She going to be put through more than you can imagine, and her path is filled with danger and uncertainty. So is yours."
Percy nodded, understanding the seriousness of Nyx's words. "I know that danger is my normal."
Nyx nodded, her gaze still intense but more thoughtful now. "Yes, the life of a demigod is never peaceful. But Y/n…she is going to carry a different burden, one that even I cannot fully protect her from."
Percy's brow furrowed, concern creeping into his expression. "Different? What do you mean?"
Nyx paused for a moment, considering her words carefully. "Y/n is the only demigod child of mine, the daughter of the night. Her heritage grants her incredible power, but it also makes her a target for forces that seek to exploit or control her. She walks a tightrope of great potential and great danger."
Percy's expression turned serious, understanding the graveness of the situation. "I see. Does she know all this?"
Nyx nodded, her voice tinged with a mix of worry and resignation. "She is aware of her heritage, but the knowledge of the true extent of her powers and the full consequences of her destiny is yet to be revealed. I have kept some truths concealed, even from her, to protect her."
Percy looked stunned by this revelation, struggling to grasp the implications. "Why would you keep things from her? She has a right to know the truth about herself."
Nyx's expression turned firm, her gaze unwavering. "I have my reasons, Perseus. Protecting her, both from the dangers that pursue her and from the truth that could overwhelm her, are my primary concerns. My daughter is strong, but she is still young and not ready to face the full truth of her destiny."
Percy looked torn, caught between understanding her motives and disagreeing with her actions. "But don't you think she deserves the chance to choose for herself? It's her life, her destiny. She should have the right to make her own decisions."
Before Nyx could respond, you went back beside the, looking at the two in confusion before turning to Percy, "Your mom is still waiting in the elevator. We can't leave her for too long."
Percy nodded, his mind still preoccupied with the heavy conversation. "Yeah, you're right." He looked back at Nyx, his expression still serious. "I'll have to go. But I won't forget this. I believe Y/n deserves to know the truth and make her own choices."
You were about to ask what he meant, but he just grabbed your hand and started walking down the stairs when Nyx called out, making the two of you turn around.
"Percy! Wait," Nyx called out, her voice carrying a gravity that halted their departure. Percy turned to face her, his grip on your hand firm, "I just need to talk to her for a bit"
Nyx walked down the stairs before holding her palm out as a bracelet appeared in her hand with craved-out symbols of her domains before taking your hand. "I want to give you this. It's something that reminds you you have me now. And if you feel like you need some guidance, just think of me, and my domain will guide you."
You looked at the beautiful bracelet in awe, running your finger over the symbols. They glowed faintly under your touch, and an unusual comfort washed over you, "Thank you, Mom."
Nyx smiled softly, the love in her eyes shining through. "Remember, I am with you. Always."
Nyx looked at both of you, a mix of emotions on her face. "Take care of each other," she said, her gaze lingering on Percy for a moment longer. "And remember, the path ahead will be filled with both light and darkness. Rely on each other, protect each other."
Percy nodded, still uneasy about the conversation they had, but willing to respect Nyx's wishes for now. "We will. We'll look after each other."
Nyx gave a slight smile, a sense of relief washing over her. "Good. May the moon and the night guide your path."
With that, she stepped back, allowing Percy to lead you away, but her gaze followed you until you were out of sight.
"What did you and Mom talk about?" You broke the silence as you walked beside him.
Percy glanced at you, his expression a mixture of contemplation and unease. "Um...she just gave me some warnings about the challenges ahead. You know, the typical mom stuff."
You raised an eyebrow, sensing that there was more to it than he was letting on. "Really? Just typical mom stuff? Nothing else?"
Percy hesitated for a moment, his mind clearly elsewhere. "Yeah, just...typical mom stuff," he repeated, a bit too quickly. It was clear that he was hiding something from you.
You knew Percy well enough to sense when he was holding something back. "You're a shit liar, Percy." you said bluntly in a stern tone.
"And you still have your dirty mouth" He replied just to divert the conversation which worked when you mumbled asshole just as you reached the elevator.
Percy chuckled at your comment, his smirk annoying you even more. "See? Dirty mouth."
"Fuck off" You told him while Sally chuckle when she saw and heard you, happy that you two still quarrel like before.
Days passed since what happened. Grover and Annabeth went back to the camp with you while Percy stayed with his mother for a bit. Today was the day Percy was coming back to the camp. Grover welcoming him and showing off his horns while you and Annabeth are in the training grounds, swords crashing together.
You guys stopped when you saw Percy approaching. She gave you a smirk before leaving to give you and Percy some alone time, which you rolled your eyes at her.
Percy approached you with a small smile on his face, his eyes shining with a mixture of happiness and relief. "Hey."
You couldn't help but smile back, feeling a wave of warmth spread through you. "Hey, stranger. You're back."
Percy chuckled. "Yeah, I missed this place."
You studied him, noticing subtle changes in his appearance. His hair was a bit longer, and there was a sense of growth in his gaze. But despite the changes, his presence still brought you a familiar sense of comfort.
"Looks like you've grown a bit, huh?" you teased, gesturing playfully to his taller frame.
"Yeah, I guess I have," Percy agreed, running a hand through his hair. "My mom has been feeding me too much."
You chuckled at his comment, playfully swatting his arm. "No wonder you've become so insufferable."
Percy feigned offense, pretending to be hurt. "Insufferable? Me? I think you're just jealous that I have a few inches on you now."
"Well, let's hope that few inches are sharper than this," You told him before going into your stance, raising your sword.
Percy grinned, unsheathing his sword and going into his own stance. "Careful, shortie. I might still take you on."
"Shut the fuck up," You muttered before attacking him.
Percy blocked your attack with ease, his expression filled with amusement. "Language, short stuff."
You rolled your eyes at Percy's nickname for you but couldn't help the smile playing on your lips. "Keep it up, tall guy, and you might just get a foot to the face."
You spin around to kick him, but he blocks you before sweeping you off your feet. You found yourself on the ground, glaring up at Percy. "Cheater."
You then sat up and wrapped your legs around Percy's hips to spin, then brought him onto the ground and you above him, your sword in your hand on his neck.
Percy ended up on the ground with you on top of him, your sword pressed against his neck. He chuckled despite the situation he was in, a hint of playful surrender in his eyes. "Looks like you got me."
"I learned from the best" You told him, back when he was gone with his mom. You and Annabeth trained a lot together, picking up stuff from the training with her.
Percy chuckled, his expression filled with admiration. "Looks like I'm going to have to step up my game."
You smiled down at him, feeling a sense of satisfaction from your victory. "You better be ready for a rematch. I've been training hard while you were away."
You climbed off him then, holding your hand out to help him stand up. Standing in front of each other, chest to chest and staring back at each other.
Percy took your hand, his skin warm against yours, as he got up. His gaze met yours, a hint of admiration in them. "Looks like you really have gotten better."
You couldn't help but feel a spark of pride at his words, a mix of desire and competition in your eyes. "It's cute that you underestimated me, tall guy."
Percy chuckled, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "Well, you're still short. I can't help underestimating you."
You playfully glare at him, playfully hitting his chest. "Fucking watch it. I might just take you down again."
Percy smirked, the impact of your hit not even bothering him. "Seems like you're forgetting something'
You raised an eyebrow, curious about what he meant by that. "Oh yeah? What am I forgetting?"
"I'll let you figure that out," Percy smirked at you before stepping back as you mumbled asshole at him then leaving to go to your home at the Greek row.
Percy couldn't help but laugh at your muttered insult as he watched you walk away. He chuckled to himself, amused by your little outbursts. Later on, he visited you, leaning at the entrance, staring at you, "Still doesn't remember?"
You were reading a book when you heard Percy's voice. You looked up, seeing him leaning against the entrance, a playful smirk on his face. You closed the book, rolling your eyes at his words.
"Remember what?" you asked, genuinely confused about what he was referring to.
Percy walked over to you, leaning against the table you were working on before speaking up again, "Can't figure it out, can you?"
You rolled your eyes at his playful taunting. "Stop talking in riddles and just tell me what I'm supposed to remember."
Percy chuckled, enjoying seeing you struggle. He leaned closer, his eyes locked on yours. "Use your pretty little brain, y/n."
You could feel your cheeks heating up at his words, but you didn't want to give him the satisfaction of seeing you flustered. "Fine, I'll play your little game. What am I supposed to remember?"
Percy smirked, amused by your stubbornness. "Why don't I give you hint?" he asked, his tone slightly seductive but still playful, "It starts with a letter p"
You crossed your arms, still trying to maintain your composure despite the fluttering feeling in your stomach. "P? Really? That doesn't narrow it down much, genius."
Percy chuckled at your reply, his eyes twinkling with mischief. He took a step closer, closing the distance between you. "Oh, but it's the most important detail."
Your heart skipped a beat as he closed the distance between you, his proximity making it harder for you to concentrate. "You're so fucking annoying, you know that?" you muttered, trying to hide the effect he was having on you.
Percy chuckled, clearly enjoying your growing frustration. He leaned in closer, his voice dropping to a low, teasing tone. "And you're adorable when you get all worked up like this."
You rolled your eyes, trying to maintain your composure even as your cheeks burned at his words. "Ugh, just tell me what is it"
Percy chuckled again, clearly enjoying the way he was getting under your skin. He leaned in even closer, his face just inches away from yours, his gaze locked on yours, then leaned closer to your ear, "Profanity, remember? We had a deal."
"Profanity?" you mumbled before your eyes widened, letting out a grumble under your breath, closing your eyes tight before peeking at him. "Peace, yeah? Let's forget about it."
You stood up from your seat and walked around the table to the shelf, placing the book back in its place. Percy followed you and turned you around as you gasped a little.
Percy gaze locking with yours as he held you against the bookshelf, trapping you between him and the spines of the books. The distance between you was nearly nonexistent, his body mere inches away from yours.
Percy smirked at your reaction, his gaze fixed on your flushed cheeks. "There's the memory I was looking for."
Your cheeks flushed slightly, embarrassed that you had forgotten the deal so quickly. "Yeah, yeah, I remember now."
Percy chuckled, amused by your reaction. He leaned closer, closing the already tiny distance between you. His chest was pressed against yours, and you could feel the warmth radiating from him.
He gently tucked a stray strand of your hair behind your ear, his touch sending a shiver down your spine. "You used profanity too many times and thought you can get away with it"
You tried to maintain your composure, but the proximity to Percy was making it difficult. "I was a victim of the heat of the moment. It slipped my mind, alright?"
Percy chuckled, his eyes studying your face. "Excuses, excuses. Now you remember it, a deal is a deal"
You shifted slightly, trying to regain some personal space, but there was nowhere to run. You were trapped between him and the bookshelf, unable to escape his presence.
Percy raised an eyebrow, a smirk playing at the corners of his lips. "You're not getting out of it that easily, y/n. You made a deal, and now you have to pay up."
You swallowed hard, suddenly aware of how cornered you felt. "Can't I just…forget it this one time?"
Percy smirked, his eyes sparkling mischievously. "Tsk tsk, no can do. I let it slide many times; deal is a deal, remember?"
You let out a sigh of defeat, realizing there was no getting out of this one. "Fine. Just get it over with."
Percy's smirk widened as he whispered that you didn't catch, his hot breath fanning over your face as he closed the little distance left between you. You closed your eyes, bracing yourself for the inevitable, feeling a mixture of anticipation and fear. His breath was warm against your skin, his proximity nearly overbearing.
And then, suddenly, you felt the soft press of Percy's lips against yours. It was a surprisingly gentle kiss, a stark contrast to the tension that had built up between you moments before. It was slow and tender, filled with a mixture of affection and playfulness.
Despite your earlier reluctance, you found yourself melting into the kiss, the feeling of his lips against yours overriding any coherent thoughts in your mind.
Percy pulled away slightly, his eyes locked on yours. He looked pleased, a satisfied smile on his face. "Was that so bad?"
You took a moment to catch your breath. The kiss had left you feeling a bit dazed, your mind still spinning from the unexpected intimacy. "Shut the fuck up," you managed to say, making him chuckle before kissing you again.
This time, the kiss was more insistent, more confident. His hand came up to cup your jaw, tilting your head back as he deepened the kiss. The intensity of it caught you off guard, and you found yourself melting against him, your body responding to his touch despite your earlier protests.
You wrapped your arms around Percy's neck, pulling him even closer as you deepened the kiss. His hands found their way to your waist, pulling you flush against his body, as if trying to erase the remaining distance between you.
The kiss grew more passionate, their bodies pressing closer together. You could feel the heat emanating from Percy's presence, the intensity of the moment fueling the fire within you. He nipped gently at your lower lip, his teeth grazing across the sensitive skin.
You couldn't help but gasp at the sensation, which Percy took advantage of, his tongue slipping into your mouth. He tasted you deeply, exploring every inch of your mouth as his grip tightened on your waist.
The room seemed to spin around you, the only constant being the feel of Percy's body against yours. His hands roamed over your body, caressing every curve as he continued to kiss you, as if he couldn't get enough of you.
You felt a rush of emotions swirling within you, a mix of desire and satisfaction. You wanted this moment to last forever, to be lost in the intensity of his touch and the taste of his lips. But eventually, the need for oxygen became too strong to ignore. You broke the kiss, panting slightly as the two of you pulled away, gaze locked on each other.
His eyes were dark with desire, the intensity of his gaze sending a shiver down your spine. He looked down at you with a wicked grin, his hands still holding your waist tight, like he was unwilling to let you go. "Looks like I made my point pretty clear?"
"Now, I like cursing more" you said breathless, chests heaving as you tried to regain your composure. You could still feel the traces of Percy's touch on your skin, a lingering warmth that spread through your body.
Percy chuckled at your response, his arms still wrapped around your waist, his body still pressed against yours. "You're a stubborn one, aren't you?"
He leaned in, his face just inches away from yours. His breath fanned across your cheek, sending tingles down your spine. "But I guess I'll have to find a way to keep you in line."
You rolled your eyes, trying to maintain some semblance of composure despite the effect Percy was having on you. "I like to see you try".
Percy smirked at your challenge, accepting the dare in your words. "Oh, I will" His hands roamed over your sides, his touch sending more shivers down your spine. "And I guarantee it will be very, very effective."
Your cheeks flushed at his words, the implications of his touch and proximity causing your mind to spin. But you managed to keep your sarcastic composure, a smile on your lips. "Oh, yeah? We'll see about that."
