To be more specific, I fall under the demi category. I’ve actually been demi for over a decade, but didn’t know it had a name until much later! 🏳️‍🌈

I got inspired to finally say it after a fan came up to me at a con recently wearing ace attire. I blurted out, “EY ME TOO” and realized I’d outed myself. 🤣

But for them to be wearing it so proudly… It was awesome. And it made me feel a little less alone, you know?

Help Kick-start my pride sticker store!

Hello, my name is Saphiri, and I have 15 designs covering a range of genders and sexualities and I would like to make them available for purchase. They'll be die-cut vinyl stickers with transparent edges and fill between letters at 4x4 Inches. However, to be able to do this I need money up-front to pay for manufacturing costs.

Pledging to my campaign will help me start the ball rolling in my attempts to to create more goods that I can make and share, and create designs that help people of various minorities feel represented. And you'll get some cool as hell stickers too! ;D

It's the second anniversary of the INTERNATIONAL ASEXUALITY DAY! On this day, I would like to share a personal account of mine. I'm demisexual myself and coming out as one isn't always easy. Firstly, as always, peer pressure. But if were just peer pressure, that might be possible to handle. Rather, it's seen as a way for people to gain attention by asserting that they are different. In simple terms, often the validity of people like me are questioned. The most irritating of all is when cis het people, especially not all, expect us to accept their invitations or the society expects it to be a one-look-let's-go kind of matter. They often don't understand how important it is to build a rapport and bond mentally before getting physical about things. In simpler terms, primary attraction is expected to be a given which often ends up in people not accepting a "NO". There are also circumstances where people don't understand how both primary and secondary attraction may not exist for some people. That's why it's important for us to educate our youngsters about the different kinds of people around them and the kind of person they themselves might be. It's also crucial to teach people how to say NO and how to accept a NO or another person's rejection. . . . Have you faced these same issues? Or any different ones?
