Half demon Hamabros thing: Tadashi has a tendency to draw weird pentagrammy things on computer art programs when bored. One day Cass has a nosebleed and sneezes when an MS Paintagram is up on the screen and some of the blood lands on it and suddenly Tadashi's in the room incredibly confused and holding a coffee mug and the blood's gone. Turns out that because he'd never been summoned and his summoning pentagram only worked when on a computer screen, it kept changing. It settles after that.
*snorts at MS Paintagram*
He begs Aunt Cass not to tell Hiro because he knows the second Hiro figures out his summoning pentagram he’s going to be summoning Tadashi at every opportunity. And into all sorts of crazy, uncomfortable, embarrassing situations. He can’t let Hiro find out, he just can’t.
Thankfully Aunt Cass is a merciful woman, and agrees not to let Hiro know. After all, she knows how much he sometimes takes after his demon heritage, the little imp, and so she agrees to keep the summoning pentagram a secret
But thank god Hiro is a sneaky little beastie when he wants to be. He manages to catch Aunt Cass using the pentagram one night when Tadashi needs a lift home from school while his moped is in the shop, and she doesn’t have time to go pick him up. Hiro already has little demon horns, but if he didn’t they’d be appearing on his head at that moment. He quickly scurries off to make a copy of the pentagram before he forgets what it looks like
But the first time he uses it isn’t to pull a prank on Tadashi. It’s actually on the night of the fire, when Tadashi decides to be an idiot and rush into the flames to save Professor Callaghan. Hiro’s always been more demon between the two of them, Tadashi is far too human and therefore far too susceptible to the flames. Hiro panics at first, thinks to run after Tadashi and drag him back, but he knows as soon as he thinks it that he’ll never get his brother out in time.
And that’s when he remembers the pentagram.
He immediately drops to the ground, cutting his finger open on the tip of one of his horns because he has nothing else to draw with and this way he doesn’t have to make a sacrifice or offer separately. The blood has already been shed. It’s the fastest pentagram he’s ever drawn, perhaps anyone has ever drawn, and all he can do is pray that his memory is good enough to get it right.
He slams his hand down to complete the summoning a split second before the world suddenly erupts into light and noise and pressure and heat as the building explodes, and then he has no more time to see if it worked because his head hits the pavement and the world goes dark.
