#82: Demon Firesage (Dark Souls 1)

Wait, wait, wait. Hang on. Didn't I already write about this guy? Lazy reskin of the tutorial boss plomped down as filler? I totally did, right? Cool cool! Guess we can take today's section ofHEY WAIT A FUCKING SECOND THEY DO IT TWICE

I've already made my feelings about this specific boss reskin pretty clear in my earlier entry for the Stray Demon, so why does this flaming pile of shady asset reuse rank 5 slots higher? Well, first of all, we're still in the pit of REALLY BAD bosses, so 5 slots doesn't equal praise. Second of all, this boss actually has a fresh coat of paint. Yes, seriously. And while it's wasted on this thing, the Firesage as a character has a lot of super interesting lore built around him and I'm partial to that. But yeah, it's...it's not good, my lovelies. It's very not good at all. Although there is one good thing about it being on this list; with him down, we're finally out of Lost Izalith. So why don't we take a trip to one of the best areas in the series for our next boss? I'm sure there couldn't be a bad boss in a great area!

Boss fight wise, I died most to the Taurus, Capra, Firesage, and Stray demons in my first playthrough. I don't know how but I think I'm seeing a pattern (I somehow didn't have as much of a problem with the other bosses. Just those four in particular)

That really is an interesting playthrough. I wonder why you died more to them then to like manus. Maybe it's cause you were grasping the controls still idk. Anyway thanks for the confession gaymer

I fucking knew the white light would lead to a boss I just knew it would. I should have turned right and into the safe hallway but no, I just had to go through the damn light because I was curious and ran into the damn Demon Firesage. Now I’m forty thousand souls down and hollowed. Damn you Dark Souls
