GSDJYKGLHOIJ ohhh sweet summer anon... there may be some big time sexual tension, but in this particular sebard storyline... they've only kissed as many times as I've written, and nothing more 😈 I know that must be torture to some of you smut enthusiasts, but despite my own bisexual horny frustrations, I LOVE writing long game, slow, romantic shit 💖 So ya'll will have to endure.

And the mating bond concept is a thing @grelleswife and I came up with and have explored together in our collab writing The Owl and the Raven, a Sebamey centric story. But I realized in that last sebard drabble that I absolutely wanted to explore it again, just with a different ship. uwu It's basically a familiar concept of like, bonded souls or something I'm sure most people have seen. Like the whole "red string of fate" trope, but make it DEMONIC. Lmao. Basically if a demon such as Sebastian grows close enough to develop feeling of a romantic nature, but of course in whatever way demons feel it, they start to connect to that person in a way deeper way than physical and literal like we humans do. It's a logical way, in my opinion, to explain why maybe you don't hear or read about demons being romantic or demon courting, unless its in a bad or smutty light like seducing scenes. This bond that forms unconsciously with this other the demon wants to eventually be with, even if they themselves don't realize it or deny it in many cases, is like an extra intimate special way a demon can stay close to their "mate", as they call them. So it's no surprise that this doesn't happen a LOT or is unheard of. What demon who wants to hunt souls greedily and have fun their whole lives tricking and messing with humanity wanna suddenly be weighed down by a lover??? So I think basically these sorts of things only happen at a certain POINT in a demon's long life; like when they no longer NEED to eat souls as much, and no longer wish to mess around with humans. Like finally feeling like settling down and having a family like humans do! And it works out pretty interesting I'm sure with a demon + another demon; how it SHOULD go normally. The demons come together, court each other in whatever ways they do for the types of demons they are (like a crow/bird demon dancing and flaunting for their possible mate and bringing them shiny presents to show they care 🖤), and once the bond forms between them on BOTH SIDES, they can feel each other's emotions, talk to each other mentally, find where the other is much faster than if they weren't mated; and over long long looong distances too! So it's only natural and meant to happen between these two.

HOWEVER, for this bonding to at some point "activate" with a human the demon has been around and close to long enough... oh boy it's quite a trip. Almost embarrassing in some cases. Basically like a demon's equivalent of "WHY DO I HAVE A CRUSH ON THEM??? I DON'T WANT THIS!!! 🙈🙈🙈" And also the fact remains that a human is a human, they can't feel at all a bond forming on their end. 😭

So sometimes I'm sure these things don't last long and rarely happen at all, seeing as the smart thing to do is to move away and separate themselves from that particular human! ... If they really, really don't want this, that is.

But.. for a demon who might grow curious and hopeful, for they have grown to.. at least like this human in particular..

Well it's certainly seems like the beginning of something different from this demon's usual interactions with humans. 🖤

Finally... I will admit I don't know for certain when I will continue this, I can't promise anything, anon!! TwT But know that because I did enjoy getting to this point, I'll def. likely come back or keep going with my own little take on sebard 🥰 So thank you for enjoying my writing!!!

Hi, anon! My headcanon is that, while the exact developmental timeline varies based on the specific type of demon, their lifespans are drastically extended compared to our own (roughly analogous to how humans grow up far more slowly than, say, dogs). A young demon’s childhood and adolescence might take centuries to reach completion, if not longer. Some of them may also need to hit certain milestones (i.e. defeating and consuming other, more powerful devils) to “level up” and fully reach maturation. Those are just my thoughts, though!

'altered' existence, I definitely sacrificed the soul of a stray, smitten warlock in order to exact some spiteful revenge on an old friend who'd left me to rot in the clutches of said prior demon. So, would I do the same to save my own life? Absolutely - without a doubt. Now, there would be conditions, naturally - not just anyone's life is up for trade, in my opinion. There's a reason I chose a warlock's soul to sacrifice, last time. That said? No kids, and preferably some shitbag who has it coming. Just because I'm changing doesn't mean all my morals go out the window. ...Yet, anyways. That said... I'm notoriously difficult to kill these days, so... very low chance of anyone needing to worry about being sacrificed for my life." 😡 What would someone have to make them lash out in violent anger?

"Oh, now we're asking the difficult questions... I feel like I've learned to laugh at most things, rather than lash out, however. Bad things happen to good people all the time - and while I was very angry at how my life went, how goodness and devotion and loyalty meant nothing, in the end... it's all a little mad. And maddening. So why take it seriously? Nothing matters. Everything is random. But what would it take to make me lash out in anger, rather than out of the need to sustain my more demonic parts? Harming children, for one. Let the innocent keep what they have until it's time to shed as much. There is plenty of time for the shadows of the future to crush them later, anyways." Here, booted feet kick up onto a nearby table, and the lengthy woman herself melts down into her seat, to better think, it would seem. "I struggle to imagine the scenario. Most insults to my person I've grown accustomed to - one must, really, once they look 'different' in any fashion... but especially when you are changed by a magic most fear and loathe. Anymore, I just hope for a little creativity and originality in the insult." Here, there's a slow sigh, and a more direct answer, at long last, "I suppose if I had anyone with whom I were particularly close, and they were threatened, or insulted... that would do it. I've always been a defender - whether it was with the Light, or now with Fel. Some things don't change, amidst the chaos."

How did you know I both craved and dreaded this question? I have IDEAS, but it depends on the scenario - on who is being tortured, and what for. If it's just... someone she doesn't know? Maybe she's hired to torture, or something? Probably something fun and/or something that rocks hard. (The ways I think of to explain her outlook, and warped kind of outlook these days range from 'think Unseelie Fey' to 'think Joker/Harley Quinn', but it kind of boils down to 'fuck it, have a laugh!' Chaos, and all - you can still dance in the dark.)

So why not the literal Happy Song? Her belting out the "Let's go!" - then make the torturee sing along and do the 'S-P-I-R-I-T' part? (Or else?) Ugh, yes.

”Oh shit.” Another quick sketch this time featuring my demon OC, I want to get more into horror art and my shapeshifting bastard is great for this. Some rambles under the curt about my OC and demon lore in general:

In the past I mentioned that B isn’t as strong physically as demons like Sebastian and that’s why they resort to fear and manipulation. Well I decided to retcon that, they are just as strong as any other demon and could very well slaughter an entire room of people in seconds like Seb did, or fight other demons evenly, they just choose not to most of the time as they prefer more “peaceful” ways... or at least their own concept of peaceful. I imagine that a lot of demons simply choose to create horrifying illusions, manipulate a person’s emotions to the point of madness and shapeshift into horrors beyond comprehension just to save themselves the trouble of ripping off a few heads and making a mess. Basically they prefer to scare enemies away (imagine something like what Seb did to Arthur Conan Doyle in Book of Murder) than fighting them. In the world I imagined for my AU demons coexist with and walk among humans everyday, they normally make themselves look approachable and people tend to trust them as human-demon contracts and partnerships aren’t uncommon, but they still fear and respect them because at the end of the day demons are powerful, dangerous, mysterious and very scary. People have ended up going insane because of these mind tricks, anyone with half a brain will not mess with a demon or someone under its protection because they can and WILL fuck up your psyche. Tl; dr: Some demons will make you wish they had just killed you.
