Random screaming into the void time, but I just thought of something that's probably not intentional for "Silent Hill F" but is so cool.

Like, there's a subplot between Hinako and Shu about aliens invading and playing games on that. Total nod to the UFO ending stuff the series has. But, thinking about all of the spider lilies and red flowers that take over the town? That's 100% a part of "The War of the Worlds," too. Mars invading and leaving the Red Weed growing everywhere.

The UFO ending for this game does Shu so dirty it's comedy gold, lmao. I love the showa-era manga style of it.

But also oh shit I hadn't even thought of that, but you have a good point! I wonder if War of the Worlds inspired that flourish, or if it's just a coincidence that works perfectly, lol!

There was nothing where the castle once stood. It had crumbled, not in any way dramatic, not the collapse and destruction Trevor had thought there would be. He thought it would feel like more. He had fought demons, monsters, the Lord of the Castle had gone farther and farther from humanity, warped and twisted into an unimaginable monster.

But what had died was an old, sad man, pleading only to see his son before he died.

It didn’t feel like a victory. He turned to his companions, the ones he had saved from the castle. A thief that still looked more monster than man. A silent mage, hiding in a robe so heavy and dark he could barely tell the being inside. A dhampir, too broken to even face his father in the monster’s final moments.

None of them looked like they had won.

And what kind of an ending was that?

So it wasn’t the ending they wrote, it wasn’t the ending they sang of. It wasn’t the ending that was spread through the annals of history. They had to be heroes, had to bring hope. They had to pretend that what they had done was good.

Richter didn’t notice the flinch at first. He saw it, sure, but in the haze of his anger it was just another thing in a rare fight. But after, when they were trying to calm themselves, he knew he had done something wrong.
