Sagittarius! But according to the sidereal zodiac, I’m pretty solidly a Scorpio. I’ve found that sometimes Scorpio fits me better, actually. (And according to the IAU zodiac, I am barely an Ophiuchus!)

ahaha okay here goes

A: How did you discover/start with witchcraft?

My mom was into it when I was pretty young, so I got her Buckland’s big blue book for her birthday…I couldn’t have been older than seven. A few years and a couple moves later, I was extremely bored one summer and plucked it out of the bookshelf and read it cover to cover. I didn’t properly start until spring of 2011, but I did a lot of witchy things I’m only now realizing were witchy now (for example, I found a box I’d made and wrapped in gold paper where I kept prosperity-related stuff as a kid and realized that may have been a rudimentary prosperity charm).

B: How would you describe your craft (i.e. green witch, urban witch, cottage witch, etc.)?

"Modern culture witch with an urban flair? Bitchcraft? I have noooo idea."

C: What is your favourite herb?

I really like lavender and I’m not sure why.

D: What is your favourite crystal?

Opals. And citrine.

E: What was the first spell you cast?

I’m actually not too sure. I do most of my spells on the fly, but the first really ritualistic hardcore one I did was baby’s first curse. Which somehow got 100 notes?????

F: What’s the craziest witchcraft-related thing that’s happened to you?

Well, when I went to see Alice Flagg’s grave in South Carolina and paying all due respects, my ring got turned backwards (as in, the kind that would require it to be taken on and off) without me even touching it. That was kinda cool.

G: Do you work with the elements? If so, what’s your favourite element to work with? If not, do you have a favourite element?

I don’t do a lot of elemental stuff, but I am definitely fire.

H: Has anyone ever given you a hard time about being a witch?

"No, thank God. Mostly because I keep it under wraps from the people who would. (Ugh, my uncle would give me shit about being a “weird goth” again and I got enough of that in middle school.)"

I: Skyclad spellwork: yay or nay?

NONE FOR ME, THANKS. I prefer to do spellwork in my jammies.

J: Do you grow your own herbs? If not, do you want to?

I’d like to, if I can get over this black thumb. I seem to be doing all right with my cactus. Also, home-grown basil = PESTO FOR DAYS.

K: What is your favourite witchy tool (i.e. wand, cauldron)?

I love my wand. I LOVE MY WAND. It gives me the warm fuzzies because my friends got it for me for Christmas as a surprise. And it’s gorgeous. I should take a picture.

L: Do you meditate? Do you think meditation helps with witchcraft?

I try, but some days I’m more successful than others. I bet it would help.

M: Do you have a familiar? If so, what do you like/dislike a out it? If not, do you want one?

I don’t have one, but it might be nice.

N: Have you ever cast a spell/made a charm for someone else?

Yeah! I made a luck charm for my mom for her birthday and have sent people healing energy (with the option for them to decline) before.

O: Have you told your friends/family about your craft? If so, how did they react?

My mom was like “well duh”, and all the friends I’ve told are cool with it. I have some really chll friends.

P: Tell us a funny story about your experience with witchcraft.

Well, there was the time I was reading tarot for my friend with my new deck, and said, “Now, the card you really don’t want to see in a reading is the Tower…” Lo and behold, the next goddamn card I flipped up was the Tower. That was the same day it kept throwing the Ten of Wands at me. I NEVER ASKED FOR THIS.

Q: Do you work with any otherworldly creatures? Spirits? Deities?

"Yup. Got a cadre of six right now. Bast is the only deity, Alec is my daemon so he doesn’t quite fit any of those, and the Assassin, the Mechanic, the Wolf, and the City are all spirits/entities/woodily woos of some kind."

R: What’s the most dangerous thing you’ve ever done in your practise?

Dunno, are curses dangerous? I’m not trying to summon demons or anything. Dealing with deities is dangerous too, I guess.

S: Describe your spellwork. What is the atmosphere? Do you play music? Light candles and incense? Dress in special attire?

Mostly I just light some candles (maybe), burn some incense (maybe) and hang out in my jammies. If I am feeling especially badass I may wear my fancy witch hat.

T: Do you like having rituals/doing spellwork outside? Why?

I’ve been to a couple big outdoor rituals, and those were nice. Mostly I prefer doing stuff inside when I’m on my own because that’s where all my supplies are.

U: What is the scariest thing that’s ever happened to you because of witchcraft?

Gonna go with that ghost story again.

V: Has witchcraft improved your life? How so?

I’d say it has. It gives me more of a feeling of agency, which can help me do non-witchcraft things.

W: What is your favourite witchy movie/TV show?

Sabrina: The Animated Series counts, right? My favorite witchy books have to be the Young Wizards books, with Terry Pratchett’s books about the witches of Lancre (and the Tiffany Aching ones) coming close behind.

X: Do you have a mentor/role model (fictional, fellow Tumblr witch, author, friend/family member, etc.)?

If you’re a tumblr witch and I follow you, you are probably my senpai.

Y: Do you use divination? If so, what mode of divination?

"TAROT CARDS. B) I also use a pendulum but that’s mostly how I find stuff that’s been misplaced."

Z: If you could speak to your beginner witch self, what would you say?

Probably something like “Buddy, neo-Wicca is not for you. Cursing is beneficial and fun. Why not look into Kemeticism? Also, stop ignoring that wolf. He’s not infinitely patient.”
