Hey y'all! I have a favor to ask of you. I'm participating in the Dempsey Challenge this year and I need help with fundraising. The Dempsey Challenge is a walk/run/biking event hosted by the Dempsey Center, which is an organization created by Patrick Dempsey (aka that Grey's Anatomy dude) that helps research for cancer and people impacted with it. The Dempsey Challenge is the Dempsey Center's biggest event and huge fundraising opportunity. I've done this for two years now and in the past I got in for free because of the support group I'm in, but now that I'm 18, I need to fundraise a minimum of $150 in order to participate. This organization means a lot to me because it greatly helped me cope with the loss of my grandmother who died of brain cancer. I would really appreciate it if you donated to the Center in order to help me and others who were impacted with cancer. This organization really helps a lot. If you want to donate, you can do so here. You can donate any amount, even like $1 I really don't care. We're also making tiny friendship bracelets for another fundraising event, so if you donate $3+, I'll give you one of those as incentive wink wink. And don't name yourself anything inappropriate if you do donate because I'd probably get in huge trouble for that lol. All proceeds go directly to the Dempsey Center. Thank you guys so much!

LEWISTON, Maine | Random fundraisers could dine with Patrick Dempsey

LEWISTON, Maine — Actor Patrick Dempsey is offering to have lunch with five, randomly selected individuals who raise money for families affected by cancer.

The Sun Journal reports that those who raise more than $1,000 by Sept. 1 for what’s known as the Dempsey Challenge could be picked for the dinner. Dempsey is the creator of the Dempsey Challenge bike-run-walk fundraiser that helps families affected by cancer.

Individuals who raise more than $1,000 could receive multiple entries.

Dempsey was born in Maine and is best known for his previous long-running role in “Grey’s Anatomy” and for 2016’s “Bridget Jones’s Baby.”
