" HAH! "
that's the ticket. some friendly words from this stranger is enough to top up her supply of motivation, which had been quickly depleting. they toss her a smile - or, at least, her best estimation of one, considering the circumstances (the hefty weight pressing against her feet, down through her calves and thighs)...
sure, they were nearing the end of her workout, but since when had that been any excuse to slow down? she had to give it her all so that they could go out on a good note! after all, this strong-looking lady believes in them, so they can definitely get through the rest of their set.
a few reps and switch of the safety lever later, they sit up and turn towards their cheerleader. there's a full-on smile on their face, now, even if that top lip is slick with sweat.
" thanks for the encouragement. " they laugh and tuck their chin into their chest, almost shy about having needed it in the first place, but they lift their head again seconds later.
" have i seen you around before? "
Do they act on their immediate emotions, or do they wait for the facts before acting? (anabelllll)
WEIRDLY SPECIFIC BUT HELPFUL CHARACTER BUILDING QUESTIONS
Anabel considers herself to be the kind of person that waits to plan carefully before taking action, and for the most part she is, but at the same time she's someone with a strong sense of justice who doesn't like to waste time with careful consideration when she believes someone needs her help immediately, which can make her act recklessly even though she means well.
She's aware that she tends to put others' needs before her own safety, so she likes to surround herself with people who can be relied on to be very cold-blooded in an emergency. It's part of the reason why she likes to work with Looker, they balance out each other's strengths and weaknesses.

ㅤ trips to mesagoza were few & far between⸻ someone called out last minute & desperately needed a substitute for one of their stations. it was an excuse to drive down the mountain, take the scenic route in the height of the night. but mesagoza swelters when the sun rises.
ㅤ silene stakes her break with her back pressed against a cold vending machine in the shade, lemonade half finished, sat next to a panting pawmot⸻ she's her own drink. a woman approaches with laboring breath⸻ product of exercise rather than heat— exhaustion. the nurse hums to catch attention, holding out an unopened lemonade; she got an extra. it's still cold, save your money.
does your muse destroy things for fun, or to let off steam?
was your muse a bully? or were they bullied themselves?
( ❀ seven deadly sins: open! )
WRATH: does your muse destroy things for fun, or to let off steam?
ㅤ silene doesn't destroy anything for fun⸻ she seeks to preserve it. from helping light any torches or candles around montenevera that blew out overnight to putting a snowman back together that fell over, she likes order.
ㅤ silene gets cross with people who do even if she says nothing of it. one of her biggest upsets is people who don't use the whole of a pokémon they hunt, but again, it'll often go nowhere beyond a wrinkle of the nose & calling them a dumbass.
ㅤ to let off steam, silene will walk away. around the mountain, drive down it & into a neighboring town, let her pokémon lead the way & follow wherever they want to go... she favors distraction until she forgets she was upset at all.
WRATH: was your muse a bully? or were they bullied themselves?
present day:
ㅤ silene doesn't consider herself a bully, but there are times where she'll show some tough love to get her point across. to her, it's done in good faith: if you're not wearing a coat in the cold, she'll chew you out & march you over to get one; if you're holding your pokémon when they don't want to be held, she'll call you stupid & point out their body language until you put them down; if someone says teaspoon sounds weird, she'll say you look weird. sometimes arguments escalate, sometimes silene will get in someone's face if they're being truly unreasonable. if fists are thrown, they're thrown, but silene doesn't target one specific person with the intent of repetitive harassment, just a one— time correction.

"hey, hey--rise and shine to the world's sleepiest gym leader! osu, up and at 'em, grusha! we're already losing daylight!"
shoulders heaving after sprinting headlong up gleasado mountain (as only she can), dendra doesn't appear to have lost any energy or pep in her step. over her shoulder, she's carrying a big bag of goods from lower paldea--thoughtful staples and sundries for both grusha and their 'mons. rain, shine, or snowstorm, dendra always delivers.
she swipes some sweat from her brow, trying to excitedly peek into the frosted window of grusha's house. another knock with a fun rhythm this time. "hey, komala head! it's delivery day! gonna let me in, or what...?"
it's five in the morning.
as they fumble (sort of; they'd equate their movement to such due to the muck of just-waking still throughout their mind) through somewhat hastily donning their prosthetic, they find their train of thought distracted by wondering how and why dendra was now pounding at their door. although simple 'spontaneity' was not entirely out of the question, grusha finds their head shaking slightly as the thought glances through. she had much less invasive ways of acting on that urge, and had in the past. what made this time different... ? a quiet groan rumbles behind their ribcage as they lean, taking hold of slippers & guiding the foot into the first before slipping the second on easily.
leg of their sweatpants is pulled down, and it's as the gym leader stands that a thought hits them: the gym trainers. the other day, their trainers had gone into lower paldea for one of their monthly shopping trips / grusha had requested a number of items. while not unusual, they had reached a total somewhat greater than their average ask. and if, by some means, dendra had become privy to that detail... ? there's a part of grusha that doesn't doubt the woman volunteered herself to deliver them...
... even if it meant the trainers returned to say the item was out of stock, but a delivery had been placed.
( is this what they meant?! )
shaking their head, grusha waves off the rotom-phone who had quite persistently been flashing the "empty battery" notification from their leg's app in their face. of all the things they could forget to charge, their leg was a first; it was bound to happen with an upgrade from a manual knee to a computerized one, but all the same the ice specialist felt distinct exasperation - ( seriously... ) - with themselves. reaching for the crutches by their bed, heterochrome eyes fall to silver's form. "try to go back to sleep," it's whispered, "i'll let her re-hydrate but then i assume she'll want to jet."
-- forty-five seconds later they're stepping out of the elevator, casting an exasperated look to the energetic woman who stood in the genkan with kurama facing her; the ninetales had let her in out of the elements, but no further. "do you -" their voice very obviously indicates they'd just woken up. they pointedly attempt to clear away the croagunk that sat behind their tongue; a hand lifts to their forehead, the cuff of the crutch catching in their elbow as the curled fist massages their knuckle into their brow. "- do you know that to normal people, this is a completely arceus-forsaken hour?"
the glare cast can in no way be misinterpreted, before grusha finally sighs & points to the counter. "shoes off; you can unload there." hand lowering, they see the ninetales' ear flick before he stands to move aside / let dendra into the house. the leader leans into their crutches, a curve of their neck granting half of the stretch they typically would've liked to have prior to standing after sleep, "there's some bodyarmorouge in the fridge... pick a flavor. you don't have to do more than unpack; i'll put it away. i know you probably want to continue..." they glance up & down, "... continue your run." safest assumption, anyway.

"I know we have not spoken much, but... I feel as though you have your own sense of justice-- a strong sort that you hold yourself to, regardless of the situation. It could be a little predictable, but..."
[ BROKE ] for sender to punch receiver hard enough their nose bleeds. (OOPS…sparring accident?)
Usually she never aims for the face, but it seemed Dendra got too far into the battle high and forgot that rule, getting smacked hard and dropping to the ground covering her face as blood dripped from her nose and between her fingers.
