Gemuary 2023 Day 24: Lapis Lazuli

Lapis Lazuli is a metamorphic rock containing lazurite, calcite, and pyrite. It was used to make ultramarine pigment. Sometimes the lower-quality lapis, which contains large amounts of calcite, is sold as 'denim lapis'.

This one has a sister, made of higher quality lapis with no calcite, but I didn't draw her. This one is probably friends with the cinnabar one I drew a while back; I think lapis lazuli and cinnabar make great foils to one another, personally.

Does this count as a goblin? I suppose it's close enough. If you feel otherwise you can tell me.

Okay so. We are checking out the native american vendors jewelry and i was looking around until something really spoke to me. Finally came to this booth and saw this backlace, felt super drawn to it. She had me put it on and started talking about how she came upon the design: “in 2014 i had the hardest year of my life. After much praying and crying this design appeared in my dream. The raindrop at the bottom symbolizes that i have to keep going through it all.”

She also said that the people who actually are drawn to those necklaces (because it was tucked away in a corner) are the ones who have gone through severe hardships and really understand the pain of it

Then she hugged me. It took me like 2 hours to be able to stop touching it nonstop

Denim Lapis! She has huge veins of sodalite, pyrite, and a little calcite. She has extremely powerful sand manipulation as her weapon, and if left to focus she can use it to construct entire spires, floating bases, or underground tunnels. However, the second she’s snapped out of her trance-like concentration her constructs destabilize and crumble. Both because of her impure form and marred past (lots of poofed/lost gems when her buildings fell) she has fled homeworld in an attempt to find somewhere to call her own. She likes making sand figures to talk to and hang out with. The bigger/more complex her constructs are, the more concentration they take to maintain.
