day 2 - home
@dennorweek Day 4 — Royal
※ I did not draw the background, here’s where I found it
For: @dennorweek
Day 1: Early 2010s internet fan culture // Music
Sorry, I know the official date announcement is overdue. I'm happy to announce that Dennor Week 2022 will be taking place from the 8th to the 14th of August, a month's time from now!
Since feedback from previous years have mentioned wanting more advanced notice of the prompts, I've decided to announce them now, too. This year's prompts are: Day 1: Early 2010s internet fan culture // Music Day 2: Home // Country Day 3: Trust // Costumes Day 4: Royal // Sightseeing Day 5: Iceland // Telling stories Day 6: Fate // Rich kids Day 7: Proposal/wedding // Zodiac
Thank you so much to the people who submitted prompt suggestions and to everyone who voted for their favourites. As always, our policy regarding late submissions and free days can be found here and here, but just to remind you: we try not to be too strict on that stuff! This is meant to be a fun event to encourage community and to share our love for these two Nordic idiots in love, so don't worry about not meeting dates or prompts exactly. Most importantly: have fun!
Just to summarise: Dennor Week 2022 starts on August 8th and runs until August 14th. Remember to tag your submissions with #dennor week or #dennor week 2022, or tag this blog directly in your post.
DenNor Week 2022, Day 1 // I’ll play “Rêverie” for you again., Chapter 1 of 7
Written for @dennorweek 2022, Day 1: Music.
Summary (excerpt of Chapter 1 included below):
Who, where, when.
These are the questions that Lukas has never been able to answer.
The only answer he has ever had is if.
Like a speeding bullet, it will strike him—the revelation that something terrible is going to happen. It will strike him, an abrupt and devastating blow, and it will leave him breathless, reeling, wondering. Wondering, again, what the answers to those questions might be, even though he knows that he will never be able to answer them until it is too late.
Wondering, too, if it is instinct or intuition or coincidence and simple bad luck, even though he knows that it will never matter, because he is never wrong. Because he can always tell.
Caught, he has always spiralled endlessly, wondering and believing, too, that there is nothing that can quiet the clamoring questions that fill his mind. Nothing that can bring him rest.
Yes; that is what he believes until, in halls of the university music library, he hears a soft, winding melody, one that fills his head with daydreams, and he meets the pianist, another student named Matthias.

Excerpt from Chapter 1:
There is no use in denying it, for he is always right.
Something is wrong. Something is going to happen.
Who, where, when; these, now, are the questions.
He knows so little, and yet he is already filled with so much fear. It is selfish, so selfish, he thinks, but he cannot bear the thought of carrying this feeling with him for even another day, let alone a month or a year or a decade. He wishes, in the midst of this airless moment, that it would just happen already, whatever it is—
—music.
Music, suddenly.
Music, barely audible, coming from down the hall. He does not quite register that he has begun to follow it until he stands before the door from beyond which the gentle strains of the piano issue, his fingertips resting lightly upon it.
After a moment, he sits down next to the door and tips his head back to rest on the cool stone wall, a long, low sigh escaping his lips.
The melody of the piece fills his thoughts. A daydream, then, it seems to evoke—
—of meadows in the height of summer and humming air redolent with the fragrance of blooming wildflowers—
—of the sea in the night, its waters glimmering with the rippling, silvery reflections of the lucent moon and her stars that spangle the sky—
—of pale pink petals or thistledowny snowflakes drifting to the earth to blanket it softly and thickly in the blossoms of spring or of winter; which, he cannot tell.
He feels comforted.
DenNor Week Day 5 (Oct. 1): Historical or Date Night
POV: You're Denmark and you spend the weekly date night with your boyfriend Norway over zoom because both of your countries are in lockdown. You just caught him wearing the shirt you have been looking for for weeks and your very stupid surprised face made him laugh. Norway can and will deny this ever happened.
Please do not repost my cosplay pictures, reblogs are welcome. If you refer to me please use she/they pronouns.
