also!! I finished reply 1988 over the weekend and I freaking loved it anD nobody told me park bo gum could kiss like that I deadass screamed he’s so fine loml I really enjoyed the heartwarming family and friendships and the 80s atmosphere and deokseon has to be the most relatable female kdrama character I’ve ever seen, all these other dramas portray the lead female is 2dimensional perfect and stale🤧

I accidentally read a comment about Reply 1988's ending (or not accidental? Since I purposely continued reading) and I get the gist of who will end up with who. I am still waiting for subbed episodes of Reply and I hurriedly went on to type a new post without even taking a look at my dashboard. Is the ending really that disappointing? I am so curious I wanted to read a summary about the last two episodes But.. I don't want to spoil myself. I wanted to see the ending for the first time, in my own eyes and I want to know what my feelings about it would be. I am more than curious. I am going crazy! I just hope the ending won't ruin the whole show for me. It won't, right? It's not like I will judge a series base on its love line. But well, let's see.

My thoughts on reply 1988 ‘s ending

Honestly, I am not anyone’s team because I found that the two men are actually nice and charming. I think DukSeon will be happy with any of the two men. I know what makes everyone regret is the fact that the personality of the future husband is so much like Junghwan and it ends up to be Taek. 

I would always want to focus on Dukseon’s pov. Since she is the one who understand her feelings the most. I have a friend and she never dated with anyone before. So, she said this to me “I will have a tendency to like a guy who likes me”. One day her old guy friend texted her and she thought that the guy may like her and she became quite lovesick afterwards but she end up misunderstood him. This is quite similar to Dukseon’s case. She tends to like a guy who likes her first and DukSeon as well is hoping there is a man who likes her after being broken hearted by Sunwoo and when she is confused with JungHwan. I can see how she naturally likes Taek when she finally sees Taek as a man. I used to be in her shoes. When I don’t feel anything to this one guy but one day IDK why I found him to be really manly. We are saying about Dukseon. Someone who never dated before. Someone who thought that nobody likes her. If I were her, I would be happy to know if there is a fine man who likes me and have that freaking tendency to like him back. Remember when Junghwan being so sweet to her but DukSeon is confused because she was like why is he suddenly being so nice but then when her friends tell her about Junghwan, she starts to figure out things. But you know, Dukseon has her very own principle which is a girl shouldn’t confess first. 

To dear viewers, this is a very realistic drama if you ever put your shoes in each character’s like DukSeon, Junghwan and Taek. Honestly, in real life I will get over my first love if my friend likes the same person. Why, because I don’t want things to be awkward among us. Even Taek takes time to confess to Dukseon. She only feels something towards Taek after Taek kisses her that night. And Taek thought it’s a dream. He is being subconscious that night. He doesn’t know which is reality and which is a dream. However, Taek is quite bold. He knows what he wants and he doesn’t hesitate as much as Jung Hwan is. Even I can relate to Junghwan as I am hesitating a lot. The only thing that is weak when the script writer turns Junghwan’s confession into a joke. I am hoping that JungHwan can actually confess but then has a proper talk with Dukseon like Dukseon can say that she used to like Junghwan when she thought Junghwan likes her but then she realised she only like him because he likes her not because of she naturally likes JungHwan. And thank JungHwan for liking her and saying sorry for not able to return his feelings now. 

But you know, again if you want it to be realistic there’s a person out there who still keeps a secret about his/her first love and only reminisce the moments with their first love .Like I myself, I already move on with my crush and whatever sweet moments that I share with my crush will forever be something memorable to me and yes I only give hints about me liking him but I never confess until now. I believe Junghwan is like that as well. 

The thing is, this is why drama exists. That’s why people like watching dramas because viewers are demanding something different from their life. Maybe that’s the reason people are feeling so much for JungHwan. For me, my advice is stop with the husband hunting and watch it for the sake of enjoying it. Again, this drama relates to anyone’s life. Yup, it’s true there’s something missing but overall I like it. :)
