Thomas knew power when he saw it and Bakari radiated power, even with his collar on, the Phoenix could tell that Bakari was someone that he should stay away from. That’s why the slave was laying back on his cot in the undercroft with a book that he managed to retrieve from the library. But Thomas also called Bakari a monster because he looked familiar, like someone who’s hunted him before.
It was interesting, finding the slave that had called him a monster in their thoughts, as he could tell that there was something within that slave that nearly had him salivating at the chance to have him. But he knew he could wait. Finishing his conversation with the councilman, he bid him adieu before he turned to look among the slaves - making a show to act as though he hadn’t already knew who he was going to choose - before his eyes landed upon the young phoenix. Taking a step forward, hands behind his back, Bakari stared him down for a solid moment before a smirk teased his lips. “You’re coming with me, boy.”
