Why is Derek short?

morgan is very ugh a lot of times i’d never forgive him for the things he said when: 1. reid was kidnapped and jj was having a hard time 2. emily went missing bc of doyle 3. using foyet against hotch he thinks he’s all mature but in reality he has a terrible control of his emotions and just lash out at other people

Derek is my babygirl, but he has a lot of questionable moments, for sure. Although, for 1. Shemar wanted to do the scene a different way and the director made him play it mean, so that that as you will.

I think his emotional immaturity makes his character more complex. It's really interesting to me when he has emotional maturity and when he doesn't. He doesn't like being not in control, but he also has a big heart.

There are a lot of Derek Morgan moments that I think are not great, but I think he's super interesting

Like its a slow build thing and one day he accidentally touches her breast and or something as they spar and hes apologising and she realises that she KNOWS Morgan didnt do it on purpose and ya its a tad awkward but she knows he would never do this on purpose and shes shocked like deeply when she realises how much she genuinely trusts him.

Aww that's sweet!! He's a gentleman haha it probably also makes her more comfortable with his flirty behavior that she trusts him after that.

Now morgans sexuality fascinates me cuz of buford - who they spulf of expanded on more. Cuz I 100% see him as bi but I headcanon he'd really struggle with being with men cuz of his past (unless he'd gotten therapy which I doubt given no one knew)

Oh, I think he's had to do some real work on himself. I can definitely see him struggling because he'd wonder if he liked men because of Buford or if he like men because it was natural to him. I think he'd end up finding comfort in his sexuality, but he may never try and act on it.

I don't know. I think he wouldn't seek it out, but he's not opposed. Derek is masculine and pretty machismo, but I've never gotten the impression that he'd turn down the attention. He's an easygoing kind of guy

Moreid is one of the only ships that I really can see it. They are too much brother-coded to me. And Morgan has too much straight energy I don’t get the bi vibe from him at all and I’m bi so I get privileges

I don't ship Moreid at all haha They are 100% found brothers to me. I can't see them romantically at all

I disagree about Morgan being straight tho! I think Derek has bi energy for sure, but like... he'd receive, but never give lmao

and i’d like to add a bit onto that:

personally, i’m still pissed at the lack of poc representation. like. i get it, he’s european, whatever, but holy hell do tell me abt any confirmed characters of colour?? esp women??? i get that they’re badass and crap but. still. where the hell are they?

and again, i’m pretty uncomfortable with the romantic val/duggery hints littered around… they’re concerning. 

um, and not a personal opinion but from what i gather people tend to be a little hesitant abt him due to him dating a person half his age. 

also, not directly related, but there wasn’t a single female teleporter?? whats up w that???

i hope against hope he rectifies that in the new books. anyway, i hope this helped?
