Derek had arrived at the local college for their own version of "Dancing with the Stars". Derek of course was going to sign up he would be crazy not it. Dancing is his life and he didn't want to do anything else but dance.So when he saw the poster he signed up and arrived on the first day ready to see who was going to be his partner and who else was there.Once everyone had entered the room a guy had caught his eye and knew that he had to get that guy to become his partner. Derek Hood is currently a free agent and is not with any NBA team at the moment.
Mr. Hood was born in Kansas City, MS in 1976 and went to school for the University of Arkansas where he was then undrafted, but was selected to the Charlotte Hornets in 1999 to only play for 2 games.
Derek Hood did try out for a few other teams in the NBA after his stint with the Charlotte Hornets, but was never selected to be a part of any team that he tried out for.
In 1999 Derek Hood did make the SAC All-Tournament team as well as play for the Quad City Thunder in the Canadian League after leaving the NBA.
Mr. Hood also had a stint in the G League in which he won awards in the 2002 and 2003 seasons as part of the D League Second Team during those 2 seasons.
Derek Hood had quite the career in High School, where he played for Central High School, which led to him being selected for the Nike Hoop Summit in the year 1995.
