One of the greatest albums ever made. Derek Rydquist, Michael Keene, Brandon Giffin, and Lyle Cooper made this album extraordinary.
Strong 10/10 Would recommend
We should’ve seen what was to come when Michael Keene had that bit of clean vocals during “Sons Of Belial”. Never did I imagine a world without Derek, Lyle, Brandon, and Steve in the band. The release following this album came to be known as “Michael Keene & Friends presents: Autotheism”. Even the vocalist of that album didn’t survive. I hope that some day, some day soon, we see Derek rejoin the lineup and maybe even Lyle Cooper so that The Faceless may continue their incredible sound. I mean cmon man, “The Ancient Covenant” has some of the best fucking melodies and riffs I’ve ever heard. To this day, nothing sense has quite topped this album. Am I just a super fanboy butthole hell bent on reliving his youth by rehashing the same tale told by thousands of fans? Yeah, and what of it?! Dude the piano part at the end of “The Ancient Covenant” cmon, CMON. How could you NOT enjoy this fucking musical ejaculation? Has there honestly been a better album in the realm of Technical DeathMetal after this piece? Nah nah, and even if you spout off a dozen names I will still doubt your resolve. Also, why the fuck isn’t there a repressing of this on vinyl?!?!?! No no no no, this makes no sense at all.
