A shoutout to @derjaegermond! Cat crafted a really memorable character, full of layers, lore and mystery, and themselves are a true artist in every sense of the word. Helena is great, and so are they. It is an inspiration to watch their work!

"It's bad enough you come up with your wicked thoughts! But spreading them around, like a firestarter... maybe it'd be fairer if someone made you crawl."

🌺 send this to ten muns you think are wonderful!! 🌺AY
-//* Cat. Cat cat cat cat cat~ If I may give you an admission: once, back in the bloodborne days I could not help but see all the work you did to bring Helena to life and I found my own efforts lacking by comparison. The amount of focus you give on aesthetics and symbolism and quality was staggering. It was never a competition, and yet? You were grinding it out more than anyone I'd seen.
It was my true mistake that I did not try to be your friend earlier; and my mistake still that you were the one to reach out to me as opposed to seeking you out. Your grinding has not come without its cost; but your effort has always been noticed.
Do not confuse self-care with defeating the groundwork you'd laid before. It's okay to relax, and ride the valleys after mounting the summits.
Let yourself rest where you need. Let your focus wander wherever it may. There will be a place for you here. There always will be, so long as you find it in yourself to fill it. *//-

✦ Growing up, I had a neighbour who was a scuba diver. Not just recreationally – he retrieved bodies, explored wrecks, etc. I was obsessed with ocean, sea-life and swimming as a kid, and I loved to hear his stories. He even gave me an artefact ( a nut and bolt ) from a wreck! He was an older man, and he died when I was still quite young. His passing was one of my first heartbreaks. I’m sorry I never did learn to dive, Stanley.
✦ My father was involved in a local landmark court case, helping to put someone dangerous behind bars. All well and good, and completely expected in his line and level of work – except he was mentioned by name in a radio report. This was an issue because his practice was based out of the family home, and his practice was also listed in the Yellow Pages. Fearing retribution from the criminal’s associates, my parents went abroad – and left teenage me home alone. I was under strict instructions to keep the doors and windows locked, and to ask friends to sleep over. Because, you know, men in balaclavas would definitely be deterred by a pack of teenage girls. Nobody did try to break in, thank goodness.
✦ I choked on a bite of steak in a restaurant in France. I still have the Fear™ and tend to eat slowly / mindfully because of it. Shout-out to the English man who performed the Heimlich manoeuvre then so I could be on your dash today.
As for the mastery of blades part, I'd say she's pretty good but not a master. The disciplined one is hard to parce because on one hand she is relatively rebellious in nature despite how put-together she seems. So while marked, it's also half/half... In her field though, she is super disciplined so there is that.

He wasn't sure of it, at least not at first given past interactions between the two, but, it was damn near a perfect score, in which, he could not deny this fact any longer-
" ...Hm. "
He hums. Never one to make much of a comment, was he? But to her that may have been an indicator of knowing.
" I suppose you are ideal... " He murmurs...
