I’ve had a pretty stressful few weeks at work and I have a big exam coming up. Plus there have been a few staffing issues of late. But every time I’m starting to feel overwhelmed and upset I just think of the HDU nurse from a couple of weeks ago who looked me straight in the eye and without a hint of sarcasm asked me if I would be able to get an urgent dermatology review for a patient at 16:30 on a Friday afternoon.

That is the first and hopefully the last time I will ever straight up laugh in a nurse’s face. And it’s still cheering me up now.

[It was for query scabies of all the things so I suggested that actually any doctor with two brain cells could probably diagnose it...]
