what i think people are missing about derol in glass onion is that he is played by noah segan. the same guy who played trooper wagner in the first knives out movie. and i for one, think noah should continue to play goofy little characters in the rest of the knives out movies. not anything to do with the mystery, not a potential killer or anything, just a goofy little guy living his best life, fangirling over his fave mystery author and getting high as hell on a billionaires greek island. good for him.

Derol figuring things out whilst all the murder/mystery is happening is a big mood

I took this on my phone so excuse the crap quality but Derol was such a nice character who didn't even care about the entire situation or his friend(?) Miles lmfao

Like he just was sitting in the dark when the lights turned off and just chilled after hearing a gunshot??? Then he decided well, time to head outside to sit down and pop myself a beer

He just saw Blanc walking out and went "hey bro sit with me", my man said he was minding his business and there for a good time and that's all Derol needed

i think one of the funniest things in Glass Onion is them reusing trooper Wagner aka the Thrombey fanboy cop from Knives Out as Derol aka the “not here” guy

I love how in the Glass Onion we are introduced to all the characters on the island and then we have Derol, who is described just as 'a random guy passing for a tough phase and is there', like Miles said we don't need to care about him. Which is very strange and suspicious given the circumstances. But then throughout the movie we simply forget about him and end up he really is just what we were told, just a random guy.

Calling it now: Derol and Wagner are brothers.

Wagner is a good, hard working detective because he’s a complete dork for mysteries. Harlan’s, Doyle’s, Christie’s. He’s been following Blanc since he met him and definitely has a signed photo of them together. Brings up how he got to work with him at every family gathering because holy shit he met Benoit Blanc?! And helped him solve a case?!

Meanwhile Derol is higher than a kite at the dinner table frowning before mentioning that he smoked with that guy at Miles’s. Takes him a moment of his brother questioning him and pulling up WAY too many Google images, but he becomes certain that the blonde guy his baby brother (10 minutes counts) is obsessed with was the chill dude he was smoking with as the house burned.

And all the while Wagner is quietly losing his shit because it was bad enough when Derol’s idiot friend Miles became… Miles Bron, but then the guy gets to smoke and hang out with Benoit Blanc, in Greece al like it’s nothing?! And worst of all, Derol can’t even tell him about the case because he was off chilling on his own the whole damn time.
